How many teams are "test worthy" in the NCAA?

I know the talking heads keep saying we have not been tested and obviously this Alabama team would qualify as a team that will test a opponent. But watching the games so far this year I don't think there are that many teams that you can play that will stop that talk. Tennessee just played South Carolina to the end so the gamecocks are probably not a test worthy team either.

Of course even if we do beat Bama, they will come up with something to still leave us as an outsider.

Unfortunately, all the rankings and talk are based on perception, particularly media perception. The very reason unbeaten teams like K-State, Alabama, and ND are 6+ spots ahead of us in the rankings. If we beat Bama, it is also the reason we will not be number 1. I don't even think we'll be past 4. Just like you said, they will come up with some reason to say we are undeserving of any respect.

It doesn't matter who we've played or who we've beaten... we are still Mississippi State. That will still be so if we beat Bama.

Looks like Florida is going to fall back a few spots unless they do something in a hurry.
