Depends on if you believe the purpose of prison time is to punish or to rehabilitate.
Blankenship is facing a maximum of a year in prison. (unless something has changed recently I'm not aware of)
Somebody else posted about perspective regarding the media ... the same is true for our justice system.
Skirt safety laws, lie, cover up dangerous situations that directly lead to many deaths ... maximum sentence, one year. Steal candy, life.

None......since no one was endangered,have him work off the value of the stolen goods.
He will actually be working to replace all the sugar he has stolen. Angola cuts sugar cane in their labor.
Hear a lot of people asking if it "is worth cutting cane" when people are considering violations. Most always hear it if there is a young beauty involved.
I can see it both ways on this one. stealing candy and getting life is harsh but on the other hand habitual offender and obviously hasn't learned his lesson. Not gonna say one opinion is right or wrong.
