How much is Stans laughing right now?

He got forced out, we made an unknown hire that not many people are happy about. Moultrie and Hood are gone. Gray wants out. We are left with pans for hands Lewis and the second coming of Piotr Stelmach. <div id="myEventWatcherDiv" style="display:none;"></div><div>
</div><div>And yes I thought we should get rid of Stans, he was terrible the last few years. </div>

reason we are in this debacle......The mf'er would be better served keeping his mouth shut.......I guarantee you this, Anthony Grant wouldn't have put up with the shenanigans that Stans did.......

that if we kept him, we would still have Moultrie, Hood, Gray, and in line to get Pollard and all we needed was the twinkie gone. <div id="myEventWatcherDiv" style="display:none;"></div>

That's human nature. But in the long run I think he loves this uniiversity and ultimately wants it to succeed.

when the most talented team we've had in a long time, ranked 15th in early February, didn't make the NCAAT and lost at home in the first round of the NIT.

He had about as good a run as you can have at a spot like MSU from the time he set foot on campus.

After he takes a year off, he'll be able to land a lot better job than MSU.

So while he probably doesn't feel that great about the program he left behind, he has to feel pretty good about his future.</p>

Moultrie - no way he stays no matter who the coach is. He's not going to turn down millions.

Hood - Maybe, maybe not. The Hoods weren't happy for a long time before Stans retired.

Gray - just what we need. Another problem child.

Pollard - If Stans was going to sign him he probably already would have. We've never been more than a long-shot for him.

And for the record, no. I don't think Stans is laughing for a second about this. He know he's mostly, if not completely, responsible.

If he decides he wants to coach again, and I'm not so sure he will, he'll wind up at a decent mid-major.

You do know that 99% of the mid-majors out there aren't Butler or Gonzaga.</p>

For you people saying it will take us years to recover this, there is no reason it should take more than a year or two with the way college basketball works. Calipari does this every year. In football it takes years to rebuild because you have to build depth and have quality upperclassmen, but college basketball is much different. You don't need upperclassmen or depth. If Ray is a good coach then we are dealing with a short term problem here.

MSU just hired an obscure assistant coach from Clemson to run its basketball program. How much more proof do you need?

Actually, the MSU basketball program is not nearly the laughingstock that the UK football program is, but itsa decent comparison.</p>

Look, dude... we just lost 3 STARTERS who had eligibility remaining on top of the other 2 starters who are graduating. We have lost 9 players in a year and a half.... THAT'S A COMPLETE TEAM. Calipari had no trouble turning around Kentucky's program because THEY ARE KENTUCKY!!!!! They are on line with Alabama's football program... Hell, I COULD RECRUIT A WINNING CLASS TO COME TO KENTUCKY OR ALABAMA. Quick fix, my ***... we have 4 scholarships available right now and no one to fill them... and ZERO returning starters.... hell, only 2 players with any significant experience.
