How much $ would it take to hire a salty DC?

About a million a year. State's budget doesn't come close to that for DC. Wilson makes around $300k. I think Wilson gives us a good bang for our buck since we're not paying even close to what the top DCs make.

I would love to see vangorder take over as DC, and bring Thigpen with him. Our soft-*** defense was exposed way before the OM game.

Budget? I don't get our budget. We can afford a good HC, and we're paying for a good HC.

But we haven't taken the next step at the coordinator level. We can afford good coordinators too. Its about time we did so.

Diaz is making about $ 750 K @ Texas and that's considered good for a DC

Is this a joke? Van Gorder got TORCHED this year.

The problems are Auburn are too great for any coach to overcome. They will need a period of cleansing to get rid of all of the 4-5* cancers that are too good to work, go to class, not do drugs, not mind curfew, etc.

The problem with Van Gorder or any other former NFL D-coordinator is

they don't know how to defend against the spread.

Salty as in a proven commodity, not an unproven one. Bonified if you will. I would like to see State spend a half mil to 600k to get someone who has shown they can get the job done as a DC. We took a chance by promoting Wilson to DC and it seems obvious now that he wasn't ready.

"Salty" defense is becoming annoying. "Salty" coordinator, even worse.
