how sad for that kid in the shower that McQueary saw

I mean, you are 10 years old and getting raped by a 60 year old man in the shower... And getting raped in a way that someone later describes as "slapping sounds known to be sex" We have all (probably) done this to our lady and you know that ain't 'soft, warm and fuzzy' lovemaking.<div>
</div><div>Then, an adult walks in the room. Sees you, see the dirty old man. You know that poor kid thought "thank god, this will stop. This man will help me." But, no, the adult walks out without doing anything. You are then probably told over and over again that what you said was happening wasn't happening. You were called a liar. You were made fun of. ON TOP OF SUFFERING WHAT YOU SUFFERED. Just absolutely pathetic and pitiful for that kid... but, those kids at PSU feel for Paterno's sorry ***.</div>

He saw it, reported it to Joe Pa and then never said another word......No different than Paterno who took it to his superiors after being told by McQueary......I hear everyone saying how sorry Joe Pa is for not taking it any further (and its warranted) but nobody mentions McQueary for not taking it further......McQueary is actually the one who sawone of these despicable acts......I know had I personally witnessed something of this magnitude that I couldn't live with myself if I didn't press the issue once I saw virtually nothing was being done.....

But I keep asking myself how many other people in that athletic department saw or heard something and did absolutely nothing and thus we aren't hearing about them. It's why I say a full house cleaning is necessary. Hell this interim coach has been there since the 70's.

This situation is so ridiculously deplorable - specifically the lack of action by McQueary, that I'm beginning to wonder if he wasn't assaulted by Sandusky when he was a kid. As I understand it, McQueary grew up in State College and was the same age as Sandusky's kids.

I just can't understand an able-bodied male walking away when seeing such a heinous crime in progress.

to get the hell out of there. So both he and his dad thought it was fine to leave the scene and leave that boy with that man. It's almost unbelievable.

if he saw something, reported it but nothing was done... I would be outta there in a second. at the very least. But, no, he kept working there, kept getting promoted.... kept seeing the creepy old man who "lost his keys to the locker room" over what I saw... How do you do this? I would have even understood if you said, "Look, I didn't do anything that night because I was mortified. But, by god, the next time I saw Sandusky, I beat the hell out of him"

It is un-excusable for him not to go to the police immediately.. I would have beat the everliving dog piss out of Sandusky then called to police...
He needs to be fired and in a hurry........

Here is a good read on it...

"And how does McQueary get to continue coaching this Saturday? He not only could have done "more" -- he could have done THE MOST.

I
can't be any more clear about this: the man who witnessed this sick
crime and kept quiet is, for the time being at least, still on this
coaching staff. The reality is, if Penn State needs to clean up its
football program, Mike McQueary should've been the first guy to go."

I can easily see that he would have been pretty scared and intimidated into not doing or saying anything. He knew who Sanduscky was and that he was close to Paterno, and he knew Paterno was one of the most powerful men in Pennsylvania and in college football. So he goes to Paterno instead of the police and Paterno says something to the effect of, "Look, this is how this is going to go down. You're going to keep your mouth shut and we're going to take care of you with a good job. But if you don't keep your mouth shut, we're going to destroy you. You'll never work again." He still should have gone to the police and he's going to have to live with the fact he didn't. But I can see where it would have taken some courage for him to do that.

I'm 6'0" and 160 lbs soaking wet, but Sandusky would've been lucky to have survived if I had walked in on that awful scene. The Hulk rage would've been too much. I just don't comprehend how a former QB in his mid-twenties walks in on that scene and just leaves the kid there. Then he goes home and talks to his daddy? His first call should've been to the police, period.

I've wondered too if maybe he was a victim of Sandusky. That's the <span style="font-style: italic;">only</span> way his actions even remotely make sense. And I still can't figure out how he is still on staff at PSU. He should've been next in line after Paterno.

I thought that too when I heard a GA, I thought he would be 22 or 23 years old.... no way in hell that a 28 year old man walks into that situation and does nothing and is too scared to talk. Again, if you are too 'scared to talk', how do you walk into that dressing room again every day? How do you see the scene of that crime and want to still be there???

A State College native, McQueary played at Penn State (1994-97) and was the starting quarterback in `97, leading the Lions to a 9-3 record and the Florida Citrus Bowl.

UNFORTUNATELY McQueary is protected by the "whistleblower" law and the little piece of **** is hiding behind it too! The university is scared as it is but they are even more scared to fire him and what he could do beyond what is alreadyhappening.

I too like many others would love to meet a couple of these fellas in a dark ally.

The point is if he would have went to the police then sandusky would be in jail and not able to harm anymore children. Who knows how many other times he has done this after Mcready walked in on him. Think about that.

I am not sure if the whistleblower law would apply here and what jury would rule for his coward *** on a verdict anyway...

Man I have no idea. I didn't mean to come off like I knew or something. My dumbass had to google "whistleblower law"just to see if it was real. As I have statedin other threadsI have a friend that has some ties up there, and this is the word he's been given/read as to why McQueary still has a job.

I guess there is a little something to be said for the fact that unlike the two who have been indicted, he was actually truthful about exactly what happened when testifying. However, other than that, I have a hard time regarding him as any better than Paterno or any of the others. Ultimately he knew what had happened, knew that nothing was being done, and did nothing. And this is completely aside from the fact that he physically witnessed the act and did nothing to intervene.<div>
</div><div>I don't see how Paterno goes while he stays.</div>
