How unimportant does football seem right now?

I think about football alot during the year, and right now, it just seems so trivial.Nick impacted a lot of people, and it's a shame that he had to leave us. By all the accounts I've heard,Nick was a great kid that just did all the right things. Very sad day for a lot of people right now. </p>

and yet I hope that the team finds a cool & unique way to honor him, like letting a different player wear his jersey for each of the remaining games complete with Bell's name still on it....like McPhee one week, White another, and so on.

Like you said, Bell was, by all accounts, an outstanding young man off the field as well as on it. I have no doubt that the athletic dept will do something special during the Ark. game, but I hope Dan & the team come up with something as well for the last 4 games.

Nobody can understand why and instance like this happens...and I agree, it does make football seem so small and irrelevant. <div>
</div><div>We all hate to see another Bulldawg go... And Nick Bell was a respectful, well raised good kid. He truly will be missed.</div>

I canvouchon his personality. Granted we weren't the closest, but we spoke whenever we saw each other. Makes it harder dealing with the news... I hope everyone on the team will hold up. I saw on facebook that Trevor seemed to be taking it extremely hard.

I think it would be a great tribute to him. If not, let one guy on the defense wear the number each week.

I don't think that there can be multiple people on the field at the same time wearing the number. On different phases of the field then they could probably get away with it. They'll probably wear a sticker on the back of their helmet if anything.

if we could replace the M-State logo with a #36 logo on the helmet as long as each player still had a unique # on their jersey. That would be a cool tribute I think and I have never seen anything like that done.

I thought maybe if they did it for the opening series that would be cool for them to all wear the number 36 jersey. I doubt they can do it, but that would bea really awesome thingto see. I'm sure they will do the patch on the shoulder. When it's this close to your program you just want to do so much.

won the World Series last night. Obama's communist reign is hopefully about to end today, and MSU is having it's best season in over a decade, yet all I can think about is Nick and his family and how none of this other stuff matters in the grand scheme of things.

Life, it just ain't fair sometimes. You will always be remembered, Nick Bell #36. Always! Rest in peace my bulldawg friend.

anyone who has ever watched a family member or friend suffer with it knows exactly what I mean. I feel so sorry for his family, and for Nick, who was obviously one of the good ones.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick's family. This really just makes me sick. Something like this really puts everything in perspective. We'll be thinking about you guys. God bless.

As the father of a young son, I can't (and won't) imagine what it would be like to lose him at a relatively young age. They must be damn proud of him for what he did during his life though.

only letters. The 1998 team had the "Keffer" patches, for example.

Stowers, McGee and now Bell. You just don't expect healthy, vibrant young men to be cut down so early in their lives. How tragic.

Rest in Peace, Nick Bell. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your friends and family.
