How will Chip Kelly do in the NFL?

His offense isn't a pro style offense so I guess he scraps all that. I guess maybe he would use a system much like Patriots use.

He will be fine if he has someone like Michael Vick running that system. That might be pretty fun to watch.

Or dare I say Tebow?

Depends where he goes.

Cleveland
Not too well. Trent Richardson is pretty much the whole offense. Don't think he wants to be there.
Buffalo
Bad. I feel like Lovie Smith would be the best hire. They have some pretty talented players on defense for him to coach up. Kelly is more of an offensive type guy
Philly
Not well enough to stick around. Best fit in my eyes though. He's got a wealth of talent on offense at his disposal and like I said he's an offensive guy.

I don't think Kelly is an NFL coach. He'll have a few bad to mediocre seasons and end up back in the college game in a few years

Be interesting to see if Vick and Kelley end up together.

Alex Smith will be available too. Hes got some experience as a spread QB, or so I've been told.

i think kelly could be fine in the NFL. obviously he needs the right players. i don't think he'll run the QB as much in the NFL (though really, this year mariota averaged about 8 carries/game, which is the same number of carries per game RG3 averaged). but if he goes to a team in need of a QB, i'd imagine he'd push to sign vick, then draft an ej manuel/matt scott type to develop, or maybe draft geno smith if he falls to whatever pick his team has. i think the biggest issue with kelly (and what doomed saban in the NFL) is that his message might not translate or might wear thin after a few years. in CFB, it's easier to sell your message to 18-22 year olds, and by the time they start to tire of it, they are graduating.

I think the best fit would be Buffalo. They already have a good wildcat QB in Brad Smith that ran a similar style offense at Mizzou years ago, but could draft a guy too. They have both a speed and power back in Spiller and Jackson, and a solid O-Line. I think Buffalo would get him his style of players quicker...plus, they have a high pick in the draft.

It's funny because Buffalo's offense minus a QB is built like a college spread team. Spiller in Kelly's system would shatter all sorts of fantasy leagues. Look at what he did this year in a lackluster offense.

Manage to bear with him through a couple seasons until a dual threat stumbles onto the doorstep. Fitz is capable of running a decent offense and you've got thunder and lightning behind him. I think he'd win and win big in Buffalo if he chose to go there. Especially considering the division. It wouldn't happen over night but 2-3 years.

Brad Smith is the backup QB and wildcat guy. He could take over until the dual threat QB they want is drafted

Unless he can bring the pac12 conference over to play against, he won't do anything.
He'll be back in college, in the PAC within 3 years at best.

If Nike can provide him an un-level playing field like they have at Oregon he`ll do great. He was the beneficiary of some pretty heavy duty support at OU that helped his *** a bunch.

Keep in mind that Vick will be 33 years old next season. I'd want nothing to do with that if I'm Kelly.

vick wouldn't be anything but a 2-3 year stop gap while another QB develops or kelly waits on the right player to come out in the draft (not necessarily a top pick, but a mid round pick that fits the system, kinda like unheralded recruits masoli, thomas (as a QB), and mariota).

yet ex-pac 10/12 CFB coaches have tended to have more NFL HC success than any other CFB coaches. from the days of bill walsh to more current examples like harbough and carroll.

I agree with the talking heads that he needs to find a young team. Veteran players - both offense and defense - will not be too pleased with his hurry-up strategy.
