How will the Private schools in the Jackson Metro benefit if this happens?

It's not as if you're going to see a massive influx of students from Jim Hill to Jackson Prep. And it's not as if private schools receive funding from the state. Am I missing something?

if they want to play they will have to go to a private school and will some of these schools benefit? I think MRA, Hill Crest and Canton will hop on some of them.

Yes I have heard of that. The whole point of the topic was just to see how some of the private schools in the Jackson metro will benefit. They can't recruit just ask MRA but if these kids come knocking on the door which many will if JPS does not have sports you could see some small schools in the area like Canton suddenly become pretty damn good.

But I don't think you can play out of your district. If your school doesn't have/offer a sport- sucks for you.

If a bunch of ex-JPS players go to Prep and JA to play sports only- I can't see how that wouldn't cause an uproar.

They would have to go to school there, and trust me they will get a few in and pay their way...

A parent that has a kid that will be the starting quarterback, point guard...................now has a group of public school kids come in and he is suddenly dropped to the 3rd string. That **** will not go over well. You already have parents in Madison leaving their kids in public schools until Jr High and then switching them to JA, Prep, MRA........in order for them to actually see playing time in the sports they play.

Another side that I heard of the argument was that these private schools cannot take a lot of these kids. Many of these kids, allegedly, would be behind in the classroom compared to the kids in their same grade and it would cause a nightmare for the teachers and staff. I heard this discussed between a couple of board members at a local private school in Jackson. It hit me a little funny like it was racist, or a form of segregation.....but to be honest with you, they may be dead on accurate and it may pose a real problem that will have to be addressed in these private schools.

There will only be a few athletes that will be smart enough to play at JA and Prep, MRA is not as tough academically as the other two and St Andrews..
