Howell Trophy, what a joke.

if a child acted the way Henderson does on and off the court he/she would be criticized to no end, yet this clown is praised for it. I just don't get it.

Putting school allegiance aside, it was actually a pretty touching moment. Henderson was too emotional to speak, so instead he made the “V” for victory hand signal, then stuck his tongue between his fingers and made licking gestures.

Since when does anybody care how a college athlete acts?...

...today's college athlete has a license to show his *** up one side & down the other. I agree his behavior is an embarrassment, but he is not being judged on that. He's being judged on his ability to hit 3 pointers. College basketball is already boring enough. If a guy is going to act like a circus clown after sinking a 40 foot shot, the TV talking heads & Ole Miss publicity office is going to eat it up.

I agree, he can make 3's, but he also attempted 366 of them. The next highest was 210 followed by 194 and then it significantly drops off.

I will leave it at this... and its strictly my opinion. I felt Holloway was the better all around player and less of a liability. If Henderson was feeding the ball to someone else instead of taking low percentage shots one right after another UM ultimately puts more points on the board. I also feel that any kind of recognized award such as the Howell should take more than just play into consideration. Integrity should be looked at as well. With that said, I understand the heat of the moment can get to anyone and competitiveness is obviously a desirable intangible in any athlete.

I'll give you this. Henderson absolutely shot Ole Miss to a loss against us. And I know I said Henderson is the best in the state, but I would have absolutely no problem with the award going to Holloway. In fact, I may change my mind and say that Holloway is the better player. However, when you lead the SEC in scoring, chances are you are going to win the award. Valid points from you.

Maybe that should be changed to "ability to score." He did that better than anyone else in the league, and did so mostly with 3 pointers (1st in makes and attempts) and Free Throws (1st in makes, 3rd in attempts).

Henderson had the better "year". His play fell off after the Auburn game when his celebrity status reached an all-time high. Then he really got carried away with jacking up bad shots. The end of the Vandy game was really awesome to watch though. When Henderson is on there's few better in the country.

Henderson blew the hell out of the SEC record for most 3 point attempts in a season. The previous record was 310 by Chris Lofton a few seasons ago. Henderson had over 310 with 2 games plus the tournament to go. He jacks up a **** load of shots, and about 35 percent of them go in. That's not a great percentage, but since he just attempts over 10 per game, of course he's going to average close to 20 points. Very overrated player, and in my opinion, he costs his team points just as much as he gains them points due to his low percentage shots.
