1 for 9 and 0 for 4. I can live with it if coach can, but his lack of defense hurts the most.

He’s the most overrated player on campus. His defense has always been below par, but now he can’t hit any shots. He’s been terrible in SEC play since the Oklahoma game.

When he’s off, we lose. Because he’s going to shoot 20 times regardless

It's the lazy defense from a leader that sets the tone for the team. Just mail it in and bet on long range lazy 3 point shots. And stand around while 1 player takes half our shots

I’m ok with parting ways with Josh. He can get his biggest payday somewhere else and we can get more talent in something other than an undersized guard.
If he wants to start and get major minutes and put up 20 shots per game, he’s not going anywhere. If he wants to come off the bench for a team that can make a deep run in March, then he’ll transfer. But he’ll make much less money. He’s a 32% three point shooter who shoots a bunch of threes. And he can’t play defense and he’s small.

There will be schools willing to over pay for his services. See Keyshawn Murphy

Hubs is the highest paid NIL athlete at MState by a very large margin. Might be time to rethink our investment strategies
Translation - Slemon has zero 17's to give about football. he;s useless as tits on a bull.

I think he could be a better 3 point shooter on a better team. I just think he gets gassed as the season goes on and his legs are so vital to his shot.

Wouldn’t that have manifested itself in the second half? Instead, he was a liability in the first half and had a great second half.

Other teams know that if you shut down Hubbard, you beat Miss State. He's not missing wide open shots, he's missing extremely contested shots and they're just not falling. He's one of the greatest basketball players we've ever had at state, he chose to stay here when he absolutely could have gone and cashed in elsewhere. We should do a better job collectively at not throwing anybody and everybody under the bus when they're struggling a bit.

If the fanbase got their way, Rowdey Jordan would have been kicked out of school and moved out of starkville multiple times....or when Dak completely choked in 2013 @ South Carolina, I'm sure a bunch would have wanted to bench him....point being, calm down...

Bingo. Except I'm not sure it's a mail it in as much as lack of offensive continuity as everyone waits for him to shoot or jacks a shot up themselves because the ball isn't coming back if he touches it.

As Warren Buffett say, “price is what you pay, value is what you get.” If Hubbard is commanding the highest NIL out of all our “student athletes“ in all sports, then we aren’t getting much value out of it. Either renegotiate and get him to a lower payout or invest that in an elite big man.

I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree on Keyshawn. I don’t know what he made last year or what auburn is paying this year but we sure coulda used him this year. If jans undervalued him, then he’s the idiot. Sometimes you have to overpay and this was probably of an example where we should have knowing what was coming in. Ballard sux, achor sux, walker is too short, and jdf is inexperienced. I can’t wait for this season to end.

Other teams have like 3 Hubbards, except taller and can play defense
All of our guards are 6”2 or less expect Grace. Grace is listed as 6”5 but really thin and same can be said about Jones. I’m not sure if Jones is actually a guard. Missouri guards looked a lot bigger than ours.

It's the scheme. High post pick and role defender doesn't come off the pick.Bigger defender steps in and takes away the jump shot. Initial defender then rolls off pick and creates double team. They do this 20 times a game and we never change. Josh gets a couple drives to the lane but it's a good trade defensively.
