Looks like Hudspeth got 5 commits today, one of which the number 2 FB in the country. He has ULL in the Top 100 in recruitingright now. The highest they've been was 79th, and that was in 2002. They've only been in the Top 100 one other time since 2002. Good for Hudspeth. Looks like he will be able to recruit some guys and compete in the Sun Belt. I hope he does well there.

Agree completely. With Hud and Stringer, they have two really good recruiters. Saunders is great at what he does, and will get a few of these guys qualified. If they get Griffin and Price, that could be a nice "Thunder and Lightning" backfield in that conference. Both of those guys have BCS talent. I don't think it takes them but two years to make that program the class of their conference.

Also, Ole Miss and State missed on Deshaun Mcneal. He will be a pro one day. Kid only had one year of HS football, but his HS OC(who played college and pro ball @ QB), told me he was better than two guys he had in college that went on to the NFL. I like the MS flavor, too. I've been told the DE from Starkville is a pretty good player, too.

He is 6'4, 190 and is a track star. He caught 14 TD'sand was named 1st team All-State by the coaches. And like you said, it was his first year to play football. Hud really liked him at MSU but at the time, we had 4 WR's committed. Now we only have 2. I would bring him in for a visit if I was Mullen. Worst case scenario, he bulks up and plays TE. I think he has more potential than at least 5 of our current commits.

Definitely hurting us a bit but good for them. With Cambell on the staff they could be a major player in the Sun Belt. Plus it'd be like a automatic backup plan if Mullen ever leaves.

He said he was a true 4.5-4.55 guy who won't lose any speed @ 210. Not a guy who claims to run a 4.4, and really is a 4.7. Said he has great hands from his history as a basketball guy, with a 35" vertical. Said once he gets with a college coach and learns to run routes, he is going to be special. I know Ole Miss offered him an invited walk-on spot, but he didn't accept it. Had we not gotten some of the guys we did, I think we would have ended up taking him. I asked this coach who he would compare him to, and he said Darius Watts with better hands and a better leaper.

I really hope the kid does well @ ULL. I think some bigger schools are really missing on him.
