As a follow-up season to the national championship runner- up team? The team that was ranked in the top 5 pre-season? The team that lost to multiple teams with no scholarship players?

Yes, it was a terribly disappointing(read BAD) season.

We were overrated to start the year

Sure it was a somewhat disappointing season, but calling it bad and even talking about firing Cohen is stupid as hell

It's hard to compare MSU under Mullen to history given the drastic increases in revenue the SEC Gods have brought. And you're right about the 4 winning seasons, but even that is only 4 winning seasons in the prior 15 seasons.

Also, Two of his annual four losses have come on the road at BCS schools (Ok State, Florida, Arkansas, KState). He's winning 82% of his games against comparable completion.

I didn't fire the first shot in this argument. Madman did. But to call the people that expect more out of our coaching staff than 98% of the rest of you is not being "butt hurt". I get into heated debates with my best friends over Cohen. I could give two ***** what you think.

I think this statement pretty much says it all folks.

We shouldn't be overrated in Cohen's 6th year. He has had ample time to load the roster with "his kids". What he has built is not impressive.

He was only in the national championship series last year

Yeah not impressive at all. Hell ucla won the damn thing last year and completely missed post season play this year. Should he be on the hot seat?

Is UCLA considered a Top 5 Baseball school? Has a former HC of UCLA ever been considered one of the "founding fathers of college baseball"?

Gene Chizik won the BCSNCG with a stellar athlete. Cohen got to the championship with stellar athletes. Auburn fired his *** one year later. The year after he was fired they played for it all again. I pulled the plug on Sherrill three years before everybody else figured out he wasn't working out either. I'm not a fan of mediocre results when we are paying Cohen handsomely to produce. It is widely accepted that Mississippi State, with its rich history of baseball and passionate fans, is one of the top 5 college baseball jobs in the nation. Such a shame so many of you are willing to accept defeats to Holy Cross, UCA, jaxnville State and OM. I hope you don't run your businesses the same way.

I "pulled the plug" on Sherrill also after the 2000 Arkansas game. We lost to a terrible Arkansas team by playing uninspired football. Sorriest coaching job I have ever witnessed, particularly when we were playing for the SEC West championship.

Where are you getting this top 5 stuff from? Hell I can think of 4 in the SEC that are possibly better programs than us. LSU, South Carolina, Florida and Vanderbilt. Then you got schools like Florida State, Virginia, Miami, North Carolina, Texas, Oregon state. Name one of those programs we have been consistently better than in the past 10 years? You have way over valued our past. We have never won a NC and I was 4 when we won our last SEC title.

We have a very good program probably a top 10 or top 15. However, regardless of your opinion, which is in the slim minority, Cohen has us in the direction of a top 5 program.

I think you are well on your way to being C34 for Cohen.

We've never been a top 5 program and it's delusional for anyone to think we have been. Even in our best years, we only went to the CWS 4 times in 12 years (going an impressive 5-8 there). We also missed the regionals in 3 of those years and only made a regional in 1 other because we qualified for the SEC tournament on the last day of the season and then won it.

Actually, Alabama has played in the finals of the CWS twice. So by that measure, we're not even the Alabama of baseball.

I'm basing that more off of coaching jobs really. When all the OM people were trying to say some school would take Cohen from us for making it to championship game several national articles (you can look it up) said this was a top 5 job in baseball
