Freeze is a good football coach, and probably the best OM could have done. He may end up being their version of what many of us believe Hudspeth would mean to us. He supposedly can recruit. We will see.
I work in Memphis with a guy whose daughters attended Briarcrest while Freeze was there. He is a stand up guy, but cant stand Freeze. He would not elaborate to me, but did contact his university, Memphis, and told them that if they hire him, he would never donate or buy tickets again (He is a mid level donor buying football and bball tickets). Not sure what the deal is with Freeze but something happened at Briarcrest that was not good. Lots of rumors out there, including mentioned above.
Im also close with an OM grad who knows Freeze really well. The way he was explained to me this week was that he was nicknamed the "snake". Why the snake...because he is always looking out for #1 no matter what it takes, and he has a knack for bending the rules without outright cheating...ala Calipari. (all out of the mouth of an OM grad). Watch out over the next few weeks.
