Who is Travis Branham anyway? I'd say after this mess, Sallis will absolutely go elsewhere. So next years class is Hickman, Collins and the dude that was a UL commit? Hopkins or something. Then Skyy Clark for the next year. Things aren't looking up at all. I don't know anything about any of the 4 but they don't seem to be game changers.

This is what we have been trying to tell you, but all you've done is called us whiners.
This is going to continue to go downhill. Next year is going to look a lot like this year. There will be no juniors, maybe not even any Sophomores.

Some of these other programs recruit in flavor-of-the-month intervals. One thing about Cal, his recruiting is indefatigable. We went to the NIT in 2013 and he rolled in some of his strongest classes in 2014 and 2015.

Zaga may win the occasional battle on a Suggs and Sallis, but Cal will continue to win the recruiting war.

Now, who actually wins the war on the court is a different story...

There aren’t 4 or 5 game changers, that’s for sure. Which is what we need.

Some of you all need to take a deeepppp breath, and step back away from the ledge. Things are a little murky right now (OK very murky), but it will all work itself out. Relax and be patient.
Actually, nobody is panicing, it's a message board, but from what I'm seeing, those that think everything is okay, should take a step back and look at what is happening, or at least acknowledge it.
This thing is going sideways and the mad man at the wheel is just going to keep his foot on the gas. This is not good.

You call us whiners but now are seeing the picture. You need to understand that Cals approach is done. He continues to get low class weak minded kids, that won’t make pros but tells them to go anyways. In order to have a turnover rate, one needs to land top 5 talent and have more than 1 player return each year.

It’s funny. Folks screaming for Cal to get in the mix for top recruit. Other threads they are screaming for recruits without options in their first or second years. So this sage advice is.... do this but don’t do it. Doh.......

No, he doesn’t tell them to go. If you are going to b hysterical, as least try to be factual.

I think bringing in maybe 2 OADs each season would be fine, as long as they're not being relied on to carry the team offensively. I would rather see a core of higher-skilled returning players who are maybe perceived to lack some athleticism to be a high draft pick (e.g., tweeners - I love high-skilled tweeners in college). Then, shore up other immediate needs with a proven transfer and/or a relatively higher skilled OAD (or athletic Big if needed for rebounding or shot-blocking). Fill out the rest of the recruiting class with more high skilled multi-year players.

Since I believe that Collins is already one OAD, my question would be: "Are Sallis and Hardy both intent on being OAD?" From what I have read, the answer is "Yes." So, I'm fine if UK gets one, but would rather not have both if they are going to play most of the minutes and block a good potential multi-year player from getting experience that UK could benefit greatly from in his second year. If Hardy is the better shooter, then I would prefer Hardy and/or a transfer upperclassmen that has developed into a very good shooter at 2G and a multi-year player like Podziemski.

Don’t blame him at all for going to Gonzaga due to how Suggs is looking this year.

Gonzaga would not even try to recruit most of the players that Cal does. Number of stars doesn't matter to Few. He looks for certain intangibles, Can he shoot, can he handle the ball, can he think on the run, can he play with others and be a good teammate. Few does not recruit players that set on the bench flashing their gang colors. He does not recruit these aau star me first players no matter how high they can jump or how fast they can run. Don't believe this, just watch his teams play. Howlong do you think a player would stay on the team for Few if they said you need to take John Stockton, and Adam Morrisons names out of the rafters because they are white ? Few doesn't take players with this kind of attitude to start with.

Why is it ok for a fan to say, if you were being recruited by UK you would go elsewhere but Gabriel tells a recruit to do the same and everyone gets pissed off at him? That’s not supporting your team in my opinion. Fair weather, bandwagon and I’m sure there are other names for it.

Aparently you don't know what you are looking at. I have worked with gangs, and yes I know what I am Looking at, and anyone with any kind of gang experience saw the same thing that I did. Oh, by the way I did not say anyone was stupid, I said that is the way other fan bases look at Cat fans

Mainly because recruiting is fluid and changing. At the time with Gabriel while what he was saying had some truth to it, Cal was still coaching at a high level and the program as a whole was closer to 2015 than now. Now things are different and much worse for the program rather than when Mcdaniels was coming along and most people realize that which is why they say the best thing for a guy like Sallis to do, would be to guy to Zaga.

Please. He created this culture of do what you want whenever you want and not having to work hard. UK might of been the only place that Tyler Ulis was believed to be a pro after 2 years. Get real.
He absolutely tells them to go. He’s been on record saying this. But whatever. No tournament last year. No tournament this year. Looking like no tournament next year. John Wall isn’t walking through that door. Hell, Malik Monk isn’t walking through that door. I’m sure the kids signed to come here next year will be better than our current crop of 5 stars. We will be lucky to have two scholarship players back next year. And there is no ELITE talent coming.

I figure Clark will reclass.

So Hickman, Clark, Hopkins, and Collins will be our class, plus probably some transfers.

Cal needs to keep some guys around for next year or we could be in worse shape next season.

We need to keep Askew, Allen, Toppin, and Ware around.
and Fletcher

Cal has offered Jalen Duren in the 2022 class who could reclass along with Clark. But every single thing seems like a long shot right now. Clark and Collins could be good starters, but you need so much more.

If what you say is true, how come Cal has had INFINITELY more success than few, and at every stop. Cals resume at UMass and Memphis was even better than Few. I won't mention Cal's resume at UK vs few. If all Cal does is recruit punks and thugs like you say, then its even more amazing his success here. You sound like a jackass.

I am no Cal fan, actually the complete opposite. But he has recruited MANY young men that have character and are very good, upstanding young men. The list is too long for me to name them all.

If you want to cut on Cal for his coaching ability, Im all for it. But calling out the quality and character of many of the young men that have played here under Cal is insulting and ignorant. And knowing youre a Gonzaga fan, I would actually WIN SOMETHING before going to the board of an 8 time champ with 17 Final 4's while your program has been to 1 and is overrated every single year and exposed in the touney. Ill take my program over yours any day.

Even if we keep those four, we're going to be bad without adding some transfers or Hardy.

Boston and Clarke are better than Hopkins and Clark. Hickman is a tossup. Collins is a project.

We need to return guys like Brooks, Jackson, etc. We can't keep losing all our moderate talent.

We could have a monster team if we landed Hardy and retained Brooks, Fletcher, Ware and Askew along with Toppin. To go along with Clarke, Hickman, Collins and Hopkins Hell, if cal could convince Sarr to come back to up his stock.....could you imagine?

If I’m Hardy I’m getting as far from Lexington as possible and getting paid to go UCLA or pro.

If this is Hardy's mindset, I wonder if Cronin would top the half million dollar offer Hardy could make playing overseas like LaMelo Ball and R.J. Hampton got.
