If Joe had the magical, mystical Trump hurricane modifying sharpie, he could simply just redraw the map and move it out to open water. Unfortunately, it was more than likely boxed up with the stolen classified documents in storage at Mar-a-Lago.It's what a leader does. Biden doesn't even know there's a hurricane threat. Nobody needs his help.
I’m in port charlotte as well. Gonna be a long couple days hoping it may shift slightly at some point. My aunt lives in Port Charlotte and they are expecting to get hit head on. Hoping it turns and goes out to sea or dies down quick. Hope everyone in Florida stays safe.
Best wishes for you and your family.I’m in port charlotte as well. Gonna be a long couple days hoping it may shift slightly at some point.
TDS poster child still can't let goOne term Donnie thinks he can blow one up![]()
Thank youBest wishes for you and your family.
We have a place 10 minutes from the beach in Fort Myers. I have been through a couple of these and every time they talk about the storm surge. I guess it can be bad , but it has never been what they predicted since we been there. We visit Sanibel every year and sounds like they will take a direct hit….Ft Myers’s/Naples. 8-12ft storm surge. Not good.
Uh, about that...Actually DeSantis doesn’t need Brandon’s help, he’s got the plan aftermath and response already prior to landfall.
You lost when you compared the two governors in this sense and you lost badly. But hey, you can still get that Covid booster![]()
Here’s the thing. There is nothing wrong with a state needing and requesting help in a situation like this. The arrogance of people that think Florida can do this alone is ridiculous.
This. Just think it’s funny how Sawnee was convinced deSantis and FL were going to do it all on their own. Delusional old manHere’s the thing. There is nothing wrong with a state needing and requesting help in a situation like this. The arrogance of people that think Florida can do this alone is ridiculous.
The troops and people left behind by biden in Afghanistan understand why DeSantis would be skeptical of "help" from biden. Here’s the thing. The post was about DeSantis doesn’t need his help to utilize competent planning before or after. Brandon understanding how to maximize time management in critical situations is non existent. DeSantis will have boots on the ground working the situation but hell maybe he will send $200 billion to Florida instead of Ukraine when Ian passes
Governor DeSantis is addressing the state at this moment. 30,000 lineman are stationed to respond to power outages. 26 states have sent assistance including Louisiana. We work together because we have all been there before. 600 search and rescue team men and women are in place if needed. The Coast Guard just said this is the most intensive response to a hurricane in history. It is a massive effort and the leadership is on top of it.The post was about DeSantis doesn’t need his help to utilize competent planning before or after. Kentucky already has supplies and workers lined up to send to Florida, they were talking about it on the news this morning.Guess what state sent help when Eastern Kentucky had the disastrous floods. Florida. Help came all the way up from Florida. I don't know if your governor thanked us but DeSantis did not do it to seek praise. Kentucky needed help and Florida had the resources to help. So help it was.
Thank you. Kentuckians are the best. It is a land that has experienced pain and sorrow and hard times. The people are as tough as steel and we know they will be there in time of need. It is much appreciated.Kentucky already has supplies and workers lined up to send to Florida, they were talking about it on the news this morning.
Kentucky got help from several states after our floods and tornadoes, not just Florida. Not everyone is petty and selfish, many people are still willing to help their neighbors in a time of need.
So now you do welcome help? I’m confused.Thank you. Kentuckians are the best. It is a land that has experienced pain and sorrow and hard times. The people are as tough as steel and we know they will be there in time of need. It is much appreciated.
Luckily we have a governor we can be proud of.Kentucky already has supplies and workers lined up to send to Florida, they were talking about it on the news this morning.

Good old Ed. Trash the hell out of yet another thread. So now you do welcome help? I’m confused.

Below is what "burns us up" and the reason Governor DeSantis is so effective as a leader. This reporter attempts to turn this into a political issue by saying Florida is dragging their feet. NOTHING could be further from the truth and the governor responds accordingly. We have been preparing for days and this clown of a reporter wants to score political points and diminish the hard work of those we depend on for guidance and leadership.
It looks like it is coming ashore in Charlotte County. I have many friends there and have been in contact. They are treating this very seriously. Prayers are with them.
Don’t you have a nickel to go find on the ground somewhere?Good old Ed. Trash the hell out of yet another thread.
Mods, please ban this Soviet agitator and spy from the Paddock. TIA.
Stop it. Please. So now you do welcome help? I’m confused.
Well said.Good for him. People working hard don’t need critics before the actual event.
Hope you fare well Sawnee, my friends in Naples and Marco are bracing for the 12 ft surgeThe eyewall is coming ashore now in Ft Meyers, Lee County. Ian is blowing at 155 mph and pressure is 937 mb. It is 2 mph shy of a Cat 5. They say the eye is expected by 2:00 PM
Water is draining from Tampa Bay and the wind is blocking rivers that empty into the Gulf. The wind is so strong it blows the water back up river and they can not drain. So guess what, they flood. In Pinellas County the beach is being sucked out to the Gulf. Things are getting serious now and the worst is yet to come.
Anna Maria Island is empty. It is too late to evacuate so says the Manatee Sheriff. Nobody will come if you call.
The gov just finished another press conference, this one with utility workers. Near 40 centers are being set up that will be a base for the 40,000 utility workers being spread out to restore power.
Little Eddie is always looking to hijack a thread because of his hate of red statesEd, what a pathetic loser.
Ppl are going to lose their livelihoods and lives and all this guy can think about is trying to score petty political points bc he can't produce thoughts of his own.
We dodged it apparently. We have been getting lots of rain but no wind to speak of yet. A few days ago the experts said we would have 10' waves over our house. I have family in Ft Meyers and several friends in Charlotte County. They should be safe but my friend near Punta Gorda. has a home directly on the Gulf. They are in a hotel and will be fortunate if their home is still standing when they come back.Hope you fare well Sawnee, my friends in Naples and Marco are bracing for the 12 ft surge![]()
Did that make you feel better?Ed, what a pathetic loser.

That his first thoughts is to root for the hurricane bc he wants it make someone look bad tells you the character of this guy. "Here's a natural disaster I'll use to push my partisanship, that is unless Matt Jones praises the response, then I'll change my mind bc that's the depth of my thinking."
Where did I say I hated Florida? I’ve read many people on here that hate California, New York, ect but when did I say I hated Florida. Spoiler, you can’t find one.Little Eddie is always looking to hijack a thread because of his hate of red states![]()
Ft Myers is getting blasted right now and Naples is already at 5 ft storm surge which is a personal record and expected to get a minimum of 12 ft. This is going to be a very very destructive hurricaneWe dodged it apparently. We have been getting lots of rain but no wind to speak of yet. Another friend who also posts on Cats Illustrated lives in Bonita Springs and we corresponded up until 7:30 AM this morning. He was getting prepared to lose power.
Florida Man is being Florida Man.
