Maybe. So far our recruiting is at Bo Pelini levels in terms of actual commits. We are rated mid 20's. I hope you are right, and they have brought in tons of blue chip talent on recruiting visits. That is much better than Bo. But I don't give a crap about appearances. I want results.

Results mean that your classes halfway pan out. Pelini's classes didn't. If Riley gets his guys to stay and be contributors he's way ahead of Pelini. I counted at least 14 four star players who transferred out, never played, etc.

At some point Riley will have to be held responsible for for the condition of the roster, but it's not fair to yet.

An apology? Wow fellow Husker fan you need to get over yourself. Our Huskers don't owe you, me or any other Husker fan squat.
In one breath you say the team owes the fans nothing. In the next breath you are calling them "our Huskers". Hmmmm... Let's get one thing straight, if the team owes the fans nothing then they are not "ours". They would be playing simply and only for themselves.

Of course they owe us an apology for the shitfest they showed us today. Maybe if all of us fans (you know, the ones this team owes nothing too) just decided to stop showing up and stop giving donations and stopped traveling to games and stopped watching them on TV and stopped buying Husker football trademark apparel, and stopped flying Husker flags or putting bumper stickers on our vehicles and so on, then maybe they would start to realize that they do owe the fans a hell of a lot. And let's face it, at this point, fan support is about all this program has left in the way of anything positive

It does concern me that this team accepts being 3rd and 10, down in the 3rd quarter, is not destroyed at losing a game, and that they seem unable to run the score up on anyone...
Not jumping off the cliff or anything yet. I hold out hope they are working their tails of for the future and I definitely want to see what they come with next year. Should be very interesting.

No kidding, Bethard ain't playing anywhere on Sundays, doesn't have the arm strength. That being said, he is 3x the QB Armstrong is.
Beathard may not play in the NFL but it isn't going to be because of his arm. His arm strength is above average.

That is a reflection of the team leadership. The tram doesn't self-police like it should and take these setbacks like they should. It will change as the young players who get it will emerge into a sustainable leadership culture

The Riley apologists sound exactly like the bo fans did. Wow amazing how history repeats itself, especially so soon. I didn't fall for it last time I'm certainly not going to again.
Riley needs to make changes on staff, scheme, and overall philosophy. He hits it out of the park on intangibles, but that isn't enough unless he's ready to make serious changes. If he does, look out.

Indeed.

That crossing pattern for the TD, he's missed a couple dozen of those this year. He's indecisive if his first read isn't there, can't feel back side pressure, and has mostly zero touch on most short throws. He can zip it good though.

I don't think he's an NFL QB, but if Jake Rudock can make a squad, CJ certainly can.

I don't think the Huskers team owes anybody an apology either. Those guys play their asses off for you. They didn't want to lose today and feel a thousand times worse about it than posters ever will. The least you can do is support them through the bad as well as the good. They deserve it.

That just beat a team in the top 4 of the playoff race......Iowa has gotten some people healthy as the year wore on and Beathard tore us a new one. He'll be playing on Sundays next year so we won't have to face him.
So what!Bernard won't see the field in the N.F.L.

this game stunk on ice, but I don't think I need an apology.

fair enough to say, they'll need to answer some tough questions about it, but an apology?

will the university offer us a safe space, too?
Did you attend the game at Kinnick? If you did, you would want one. I would have preferred smack talk from Iowa fans, instead we received pity. It was like they almost felt sorry for us. Sad, sad time to be a Husker fan.

People should quit donating. B1G money has made donations trivial and marginalized. Look for non-profits that actually impact the human condition

I don't want an apology. Fire Read and recruit like hell.
I think something needs to change on defense besides just the players. Maybe its the scheme or maybe its a coach or two. We should not have given up so many big plays to Iowa even with our current players.

Defense was much improved this year and kept us in the majority of games. Not worried about it right now.

Yesterday the defense took 2 steps back, but good lord we need better defensive ends for this defense to improve and not over pursue with our LBers ohhh yea and tackle better.

If the almighty husker fan base feel's they need an apology for getting the crap kicked out of them yesterday then here you go. The HAWKEYE fan base is sorry that your team has just got exposed for what they have been sense joining the B1G and that is being just another BELOW AVERAGE team.

And as far as CJ playing in the NFL I have a feeling that you will see a lot more of Beathard playing on Sunday then any QB that the huskers have put in the NFL the last 10 years.

Not go too fat out a limb there, hell the last 8 years we have had Taylor Martienez and Tommy.

"Sense joining the B1G and that is just another BELOW AVERAGE team"

What's the record of both teams in B1G games the last 6 years if we're below average. o_O

Sense 2007. Nebraska is 86 - 45 and IOWA is 80 -48. So I guess I should apologize again. It seems that nebby is just an average B1G team.

An apology is given, when someone has wronged you. How the hell did the Cornhuskers wrong any of you? If anything, you should be asking for an explanation. You feel bad, I feel bad, you know like my Thanksgiving Weekend is ruined. But don't bs yourself, no one feels worse than the Husker players and coaches.

Maybe you don't realize...you guys are an average team....below average since joining the B1G...And you tend to get blown out..Wisconsin put 70 on you in your only Championship game appearance..OSU put up 61..Iowa 40....oh and we have won the west as many times as you have...lol...so welcome to average and the future of Husker Football...you don't play Kansas anymore

2011 5-3
2012 7-1
2013 5-3
2014 5-3
2015 3-5
2016 6-3
Overall 31- 18 or (.632 win %)

Iowa is our Kansas now, why do you think everyone is so upset about losing to them?
