It’s now time for Caleb to come off the bench for energy and defense. We need points early on to get a cushion, THEN bring Caleb in to shut people down.

We will NOT beat good offensive teams in the tourney unless we SCORE MORE.

Mags defense will pick up slack and Hyatt is no slouch on D.

It’s time. It’s obvious.

Holy cow. The time is obvious for you to stop trying to be coach.

So we are an offense 1st team now?
No We are a team that needs to score more. Cam is slumping for now. Hyatt has proven himself a strong shooting option. Caleb had not. You think Caleb’s D is worth losing games because we can’t score?

The lack of consistent scoring from Caleb isn't the only starter not playing up to expectations. The 18 turnovers many of which were unforced is a serious problem caused by experienced players.

You needed to start two threads on basically the same subject?

How many points did we score today? We won many games scoring less. How many points did we give up? Have we won any games giving up that many?

Its an interesting strategy if your goal is to give up 70-75 a game and lose.

He seems to get more minutes at the expense of Cam just as much as Caleb. Caleb had foul trouble today so that contributed to his lower PT. Caleb does have a lot of head scratching moments for a 5th or 6th year senior particularly on the offensive end when handling the ball. He should never be more than the 3rd option regardless of who is on the floor.

While Hyatt has been hot recently, I would say there is a greater differentiation between Caleb's ability defensively compared to Hyatt than on the offensive end where Hyatt has had the edge lately. You know what Pike values the most.

The OP spelled Cam wrong. If there is anybody who needs to go to that role it's him. If you come in and provide some instant offense great. If not back to the bench you go.

Staying on the bench.
You’ll see Hyatt getting more minutes than Caleb there’s no doubt. You’re blind if you can’t see that.
I did not have a crystal ball, but it was clear to me that Dean would not be starting. Just have to understand basketball.
I do and played the game on a great high school team. Dean never took that next step as we all expected. It happens

That’s not going to happen ever unless Caleb is hurt. Caleb is probably going to play more minutes than anyone else on the team the rest of the way. He can lock up any player on the court. That is much much more valuable than hitting a few threes.
