it was a fun day in Starkville. Their fans were fun, the Boom was fun, and it's an easy win with a full stadium.

I don't understand all the fuss about the Boom. I thought they were pretty average. Sure they're different than most other bands we see but I wasn't impressed with the quality of their musicianship or showmanship. And it bothered me that in the second half they kept playing after the snap on multiple occasions.<span style="margin-left: -51px; margin-top: -57px; opacity: 0.25;" class="smarterwiki-popup-bubble smarterwiki-popup-bubble-active"><span class="smarterwiki-popup-bubble-body"><span class="smarterwiki-popup-bubble-]

With all that being said, I agree with your other points and I wouldn't mind having them back. I could deal with the Boom again.

the best I've seen JSU's band play. I have seen them four times or so now. The other four times they did the exact same show. This time it was a different show, and they sounded better to me this time.

I had heard that they have a new band director, so that probably explains it.

Oh, and by the way, if the band is playing during a play, their football team can be penalized. Those jackasses called everything except that.

I was wondering about that. I noticed that they struck the band up every time during our extra points.</p>

I think we need an 8-year rotation where we would play a non-state I-AA team in even numbered years, then in the odd years rotate JSU, Alcorn, JSU, MVSU.

I would not mind playing JSU every year. Several advantages...

1. Likely will give us a full house. Like you said, the other in-state SWAC schools will not travel like that.
2. They will never, ever beat us. Ever. I don't care how bad we are.
3. Good PR, obviously.

They helped USM fill up their stadium Saturday. Yes, I know their stadium isn't as big as DWS, but USM doesn't normally come close to filling it either.

The JSU fans seemed to enjoy the trip as much as us State fans did. Easy payday and "big" game for JSU and an easy win.

than starkville would be. but i agree with you and the others - they would bring enough fans to help and certainly would bring more than sela and maine.

..it was a seasoning. But I figure it's the same guy. Cause how many people are into the seasoning/sauce business in Louise??

and I don't think our band ever is. I thought their marching was actually pretty bad. When their drum corp came out in a line, it looked more like a wave than a line. So, technically, you might be right -- the Boom might not be very good. But, they are entertaining. Our band bores the hell out of me.
