So pay him to not work at PSU for the next 7 years because he isn’t giving enough public updates on the search?
No, for cause. For not doing his job.

Now if he announces a slam dunk hire in another day, before signing day, he should keep his job. But right now I am not confident that is going to happen.

lol…yep, the judge will certainly side with PSU in that lawsuit when the reason “for cause” is that Big_O doesn’t like the hire.

It feels like he may have put all his eggs in a plan A hire and when that person fell through he has been making it up rest of the way and not doing it well.

It will be very telling when next HC is finally selected and announced.

you dont have to like the hire or not, this has been handled in maybe the worst way possible . almost every school has parlayed Krafts all in on the flop to leaving him with nothing but a small low pct chance to an inside straight on the river. he pretty much has no outs left

I don't think there are any realistic "slam dunk hires" left.

Again, in what way has this been handled poorly? The earliest I ever would have expected a coach announcement would have been yesterday...I figured we'd hear something either this week or early next week. And I'd hope that he'd be playing things close to the vest...the less everyone knows about the search, the better.
The poker analogy is a funny one here...does a good poker player broadcast their hand? Or do they play things close to the vest? You're assuming he's drawing to an inside straight because he hasn't shown his cards or given any "tells"...something you'd hope a good poker player would do.

Well, it seems as if PSU has been outflanked on every front, unless every coach who has been hired in the last week never was under consideration, which I believe would be untrue. Also, it seems as if almost all of his poker chips are gone. In what sane world would the head coach of Alabama, a team that will make the playoffs almost every year, leave there to go to PSU?

Well yes becuase that could happen as the odds are not 0. the analogy is spot on. He went all in on firing franklin assuming a lot of folks were going fold or could couldnt call, and he would have his pick of the litter, however everyone called his bluff to date. you tell me seems like hes got nothing and every one knows it

Not ragging on you, but if no hire is announced by Wednesday 10th should we lower the lifeboats?

Maybe we should see what actually happens before we begin stoning Mr. Kraft to death?

Tomlin might be looking for work soon. Maybe he's holding out for that guy who we can bank on for a 6-6 record every year.
Agree with your first statement but not Tomlin. 🤮 6-6 would be generous. More like 5-7 at best.

I had always expected 12/8 to be the likely day to make a hire. Maybe 12/9 considering the 24 hour BOT notice.

If it goes beyond 12/10 then things are going to get pretty tense in here. That would mean it has to be a playoff coach and there would be a very real possibility that we get f***ed at the last second. Could it really be Freeman? I seriously doubt it. Has Joey McGuire been crossed off the list?

I think I'll stick to #1. Did the others with CJF for 12 years and where did it get me?

What's laughable about this whole situation is that Smith actually may leave shortly, and then he wouldn't even have that option.
I have a big question for Smith. If you (Smith) are the recruiter you have been made out to be, then why haven’t you been able to salvage the recruiting class at the school you are campaigning at to be the HC? It feels strange to me that you allowed the entire class to walk out without much of a fight…unless you are planning to walk out the door to Blacksburg also???

How is that signing day class looking 😂 😂 😂 😂. I think we might be around 112 or 113, right in between Louisiana Monroe and UMass

Fire Kraft. He has no idea what he's doing. There I said it.
I get what it looks like on the outside, but doesn’t it seem a little early to make such a declaration? If the guy they wanted told them the only way he’s coming is if we wait until after a certain date, then I guess the decision is to accept those parameters or move on and go with someone you perceived to be a lesser candidate just to meet a deadline.

If we having been waiting this entire time on DeBoer or Freeman then this is all worth it. If not, I want to hear “Fire Kraft” chants at every basketball game, volleyball game, wrestling match, baseball game, and lacrosse game until the end of the school year.
