I'm in the 4th inning. Did that guy make it? He did not look too good.
I read this after I posted about the double. I agree.I thought he drove an outside pitch to the wall in left center later in the game but it was a miss - with power. Basically what you see from someone that pulls the ball but pops up to the opposite field or rolls over.
I was told in coach pitch playing center field that if I call it the ball was it was mine, no matter what the ball was mine. To watch these outfielders not communicate and the infield fork up so many plays. That's on coaching just like the base running snafus.Just watch the Cupp play. We worked on that so much in practice. Worked on really yelling I Got It multiple times. Then priority was defined and centerfield is top priority. Then others tell Take It multiple times to assure the highest priority guy he is clear to get it. Then infielders go down and outfielders stay tall.
That play was very poor communication.
His back foot is always about an inch off the batters box line. He has an open stance and it just depends on how much he closes it on his stride.Sullivan is a “hitter”. Hits the ball hard all over the field. I wonder if Hines grew up with the approach that he has and it is a little late to make a drastic change. It does look like he has backed off of the plate a little, not much, but a little since coming back from the 2 game vacation.
