Sullivan hits like I think Hunter should hit. He gives himself room and see how he can hit a pitch on the inner 3rd and keep it fair. Ball outside he drives it to the right side.

I just watched Hunters HR and it was on the outside corner. His previous AB he barreled up an inside pitch and it was 40 feet foul.

I thought he drove an outside pitch to the wall in left center later in the game but it was a miss - with power. Basically what you see from someone that pulls the ball but pops up to the opposite field or rolls over.

Just watch the Cupp play. We worked on that so much in practice. Worked on really yelling I Got It multiple times. Then priority was defined and centerfield is top priority. Then others tell Take It multiple times to assure the highest priority guy he is clear to get it. Then infielders go down and outfielders stay tall.

That play was very poor communication.

Hunter's double he pulled his hands in a bit but it was also down. That's like the Mike Trout video. That was good hitting.

He can hit he just hurts himself.

I read this after I posted about the double. I agree.

On Sullivan again. His next to last AB the last few pitches he moved much closer to the plate because he felt they were trying to work the outside corner. Here is a guy making adjustments on every pitch. I love that.

I was told in coach pitch playing center field that if I call it the ball was it was mine, no matter what the ball was mine. To watch these outfielders not communicate and the infield fork up so many plays. That's on coaching just like the base running snafus.

Sullivan is a “hitter”. Hits the ball hard all over the field. I wonder if Hines grew up with the approach that he has and it is a little late to make a drastic change. It does look like he has backed off of the plate a little, not much, but a little since coming back from the 2 game vacation.

His back foot is always about an inch off the batters box line. He has an open stance and it just depends on how much he closes it on his stride.

And it's only speculation on my part but I agree that he is kinda stuck in a stance he used for a long time and has had some success using. He had grown taller and gotten stronger and has he adjusted to those things?

He swings at and hits pitches away from his body now. So I really don't think it would be an adjustment at all other than recognizing that the inside pitch it not gonna be called a strike.
