For the team putting me through that. Oh my word!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy thing is they did all that with ONE legitimate hit in the inning and it was a single. I did think the home plate ump was really squeezing Holder on his balls and strikes calls though which made it tougher.

Totally agree on the ump tightening up,

He made Holder earn it. Virginia deserved some credit for some great at bats, they knew they couldn't square him up so they just threw the bat out and it almost worked.

Yep, they put the ball in play and MADE us make a play to put them away and the pressure looked like it really got to us trying to make the play for the final out.

Screw Virginia. I hope the turd they laid on their Omaha chances comes back to haunt them for the rest of time, and after a good enough time to where everyone has forgotten about that big stinky turd I hope John Grisham writes a murder novel inspired by Frazier raping their entire pitching staff and sells it in their fancy pants campus book store.

He can use the proceeds to build a 2nd Dudy Noble mini replica in Charlottesville.

I agree. That was cardiac arrest material...

...I was already gettting ready to ignore Game #3 if it came to that. Game #3 would have been the 2003 NLCS Marlins vs. Cubs all over again (& we would have been the Cubs).

The plate did get tight, but as relaxed Holder was in the 8th he got tight with the walk in the 9th. I can only imagine how Holder felt with the top of the order up and the ump squeezing the plate! But he gained more experience from this game and that will help him!

Congrats. The ump, in my personal opinion, was screwing with the zone. Y'all earned it. Great job.

I understand. Is that Gerald in your avatar? I heard recently that he was voted the most recognized face in Starkville.

Unnecessary to bring that up.
As soon as the game was postponed, last night, the same feeling of eminent chaos returned.

One generation had the goat ('45), one had the cat ('69), I had the 84 stinkin' padres. The newer generation has the '03 Post-Barkman 'collapse. Diehard Cub fans will always carry a similar Bill Buckner (who wore a Cubs batting glove in the '86 gaffe) moment in their memory. We can't repress it. At least, until it get replaced by another one...

The game being postponed DROVE ME NUTS knowing that all we had to do was get six more outs for 19 FREAKING HOURS. Thanks ESPN. Learn how to handle rain delays from MLB.
