I believe this team will go at least 6-6 this year and reach a bowl

Your are drunk, we may beat Vandy, and should beat AP with a outside chance at beating MSU (we say that every year) but no other game is winnable. I thought we had a shot at Missouri before the season started, but, they are playing way better than we are. I hope I am wrong.

None of the following have impressed me enough for me to say "never", or even close... Vandy, State, Mizzou, UGA, Austin Peay, and yes... UT.

6-6 ? I would take that in a New York minute and call it a season. Saying 6 wins in the same breath with our Cats is like shooting for the moon with a .22 rifle.

Even if we end up in the "Billy Bob's Farm Supply Superstore Bowl" it will be nice for the team to get in those additional practices.

With the exception of Austin Peay, I think we'll be the dog in every game.

That's going to take a lot of optimism to get to bowl eligible.

I think we will be favored in the AP and Vandy games, SC beat Vandy so since we beat SC they will probably give us a slight edge. No way we go bowling this year. 3-4 wins max.

My friend, I truly hope you are right, but I remain less optimistic. Stoops has shown two prior mid season collapses and that has left a bad taste for fans. Would love to see them finish strong. GBB!

Yes, UT didn't impress me at all either scoring like 35 unanswered or whatever it was on FL and putting up 38 on their D that we only scored on when they put in their 3rd string to avoid the shutout. Let's also not forget the fact the game is in Knoxville and they have won like 29/30 against us or whatever it is. I suppose the "Never" part is fair, but "even close" is a bit ignorant when it comes to UT vs. UK. They also curb stomped us the last two years with Dobbs and company.

I agree on most of the others. Vandy MSU, Missouri ( better than you think), and APSU are all winnable. UGA might be interesting but as someone pointed out Chubb will run all over us.

6-6 is an embarrassment after all this time.
And that would be 6-6 against a schedule of teams that honestly still do not have much reason for taking us seriously.

Another trick down the road (hopefully!) would be 6-6 against opponents who are all taking us seriously.

I'm not too ignorant to overlook the fact UT put themselves in the position to need that historic run... and Butch Jones is still HC. I can see both of us possibly trending against expectations. So, go find someone else to label ignorant. I could just as label you "UT Owned". You did not point out anything of which I am ignorant. You simply reach a different conclusion.

And we have Mark Stoops as our HC...so not sure I get the point of your post. Jones has the the better players, home field and is a better coach. I just thought you might be ignorant of recent events and history against UT. Clearly you are not so I apologize. I'll be here after the UT/UK game, but won't say I told you so.

I think we might get to a bowl game with only 5 wins. I believe UCLA went to a bowl with only 5 wins a few years ago. My understanding is that if not enough teams win 6 games to fill all available bowl spots, then a bowl can choose a 5 win team. This isn't the optimal way to make a bowl, but I guess I would take it this season.

I do love the reward of a nice bowl game after a successful 5-7 season..maybe we can work up a little extra scratch to give Stoops a contract extension as well..I love the thought of losing to a Louisville coach that we turned down for the foreseeable future and shooting for a .500 record while our rival competes for the CFB playoff

Not a chance for six wins. UK may beat Vandy, but they will fall to Missouri and MSU. And to the comment above about possible beating Georgia? Georgia will wax UK's behind. UK is exactly the right medicine that Eason needs for that one huge stat building coming out party.

Yeah, it's difficult to get excited about the prospect of going .500 only if we catch some lucky breaks. Still, I'll watch all the games.
