Here too. Baseball season is supposed to give us hope, not kill us inside.
How 17-ing crazy is it that we are as bad as any 4 year run in our history of baseball after winning a 17-ing Natl Championship?
That to me is just unbelievable.
It’s a bad dream like, … but we don’t have the balls in the top offices at Miss State University to fire the baseball coach.
He should have been gone after the 2023 season.

Seems as if we made a deal with the devil. Got our trophy and nothing. We’ve got a nice park we don’t use for postseason. We should be using that thing every year or 3 of 4 for hosting regionals. We shouldn’t be ok building it and not using it in post season. But it seems we are.
What just angers me is the fashion we are losing. CAN NOT hit in clutch situation. Base running blunders. Errors everywher. Pitching except Pico is very below average. The same it has been since the natty. It would be ok if we lost on clean execution but just to fumble bumble our way to a loss doesn’t sit well with me at all. It just makes me lose hope. And our ghost of AD is not helping being invisible.
The 4 year stretch before the Natty was one of the better ones in our history. We’ve completely fallen off.

That 2016 team should’ve won it all.
I’m expecting this season to be the baseball equivalent of 2-10.
Will still attend a few games, thankful for any victories but not worrying about conference standings. It’s my school and I support it just like my local high school. Just have to remind myself that many of the players are truly professionals, just there for the money and where they might play next at the college level.

Correct. Polk's rule as we all know was win a minimum of 2/3 at home and 1/3 on the road. Do that and we should be in business come the postseason. And Polk usually exceeded those minimum series expectations.
Even when football and basketball were crap, at least our baseball has typically been competitive. There is now no reprieve from the suck. And nobody in our administration gives a ****.
I sometimes wonder if, when I told God that if we won the natty in 2021 that I'd never complain again, he decided to call my bluff.
