“Might”? Given the state of pc today, I'm surprised Friends and The Office are even still aired.
Interesting story. Richard Pryor was one of the writers. Mel Brooks asked him, can we do this? Can we say n*****? Pryor said as long as it was the bad guys saying it, it would be funny.Yeah that would never get made today. It is making fun of racism and bigotry but using the N-word like that would make people fall out of their chair.
Just keep an eye on him and when he dozes off for a quick nap, you can switch it over to the Lifetime or Hallmark channel. I’m here to solve problems.my dad has severe dementia and my mother is in the hospital with broken pelvis (86 and 84) so my wife and I are taking care of my father. While trying to keep him occupied I'm finding westerns ( he never missed one back in the day) to watch. Gunsmoke, Bonanza, John Wayne you name it we're watching them. That is some of the dumbest crap I've ever seen. I can't believe some organization hasn't tried to shut any channel down that shows them. I loved them as a kid but now, What the Heck were they thinking?
And SapphireYes, Amos and Andy and Kingfish.

Look… I could give or take on Bonanza, but I’m gonna disagree with you about Gunsmoke. Yes, Festus is over the top, but otherwise, it’s a good show and I can sit down and watch that anytime.my dad has severe dementia and my mother is in the hospital with broken pelvis (86 and 84) so my wife and I are taking care of my father. It amazes me the roles men now play.I don't really don't have anything against any of it, but it does seem weird the roles women played and always needed to be "saved" by the hero. Like I said I loved these shows as a kid but man they are hard to watch nowdays. Not really a fan of much of anything on TV now, mostly sports and 48 hrs type shows. Use youtube a lot also.
My condolences to you and your family HBP. I've lost both of my parents in the last two years. It leaves a hole in your life that's hard to explain. We just finished settling the estate and it's mentally draining.Cherish every moment you still have with them. I lost my mom to cancer today.
I have seen all these movies and shows. The searchers was my favorite. Shane was just ok for me though.Look… I could give or take on Bonanza, but I’m gonna disagree with you about Gunsmoke. Yes, Festus is over the top, but otherwise, it’s a good show and I can sit down and watch that anytime.
I’m going to help you out though with some classic westerns that are maybe a bit more grounded and palatable.
Movies:
Shane
High Noon
The Cowboys (my all time favorite movie)
The Searchers
Series:
The Rifleman
Paladin
Rawhide
You have never played golf, and upon an errant shot, heard...Come back Shane?I have seen all these movies and shows. The searchers was my favorite. Shane was just ok for me though.
They schedule Gunsmoke just for me. Would watch way over the woke crap that's on tv.my dad has severe dementia and my mother is in the hospital with broken pelvis (86 and 84) so my wife and I are taking care of my father. I have never heard that on the golf course. You have never played golf, and upon an errant shot, heard...Come back Shane?
Good movie.
Women still need and want to be saved by a real man wether they realize it or not. That’s why genetic studies in Europe show an amazingly high percentage of children aren’t the child of their mother’s husband.I don't really don't have anything against any of it, but it does seem weird the roles women played and always needed to be "saved" by the hero. Like I said I loved these shows as a kid but man they are hard to watch nowdays. Not really a fan of much of anything on TV now, mostly sports and 48 hrs type shows. Use youtube a lot also.
I watched it as a kid. I always thought Amos and Andy was just the black version of Laurel and Hardy. I never thought of it as racism.I did. My dad loved it. He used to rent VHS of it.
to each his own. if everyone was the same, it would be a boring worldmy dad has severe dementia and my mother is in the hospital with broken pelvis (86 and 84) so my wife and I are taking care of my father.
