I don't know, if I am a Mike Riley fan, but I was a Dr. Tom fan in '95

Cedar Rapids, IA (CID) -- You don't win many games, when you throw four interceptions. You likely don't lose many games by only 10 points, when you throw four interceptions too!

Six games, Six losses by a total of 23 points. Kirk Ferentz would say "That's Football!"

Iowa fans between 2014 and 2015 were already to cut ties with head coach Kirk Ferentz. I wasn't among them, but I have to admit I heard a lot of noise from fans, former college football players and people who had opinions that were promoting such a trend.

The Hawkeyes were 7-6 last year and lost three straight to close the season. Today, Tennessee is not in the Top 10, but it is the Hawkeyes. Nebraska nearly beat Wisconsin ... it is the fine line between winning and losing.

Mike Riley is 3-6. Was he the right hire at Nebraska?

Only time will tell. Prudence, patience and ethics says stay supportive for Coach Mike Riley and the less than perfect Nebraska Cornhuskers. Right now, I am enjoying the less than perfect, undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes season. It isn't 1985 (Iowa was rated #1 when the beat #2 Michigan). It isn't 1995, when Nebraska was on top of the NCAA.

Look around College Football today
. It is a far, different landscape and patience and time is often the path to success ...

Northwestern beats Stanford, but Stanford is the Top 10 program ...

Nebraska hosts Michigan State on Saturday. I expect a competitive game in Lincoln. That's Big Ten Football ...
