He played his best game of the year. But in 2nd OT, he missed Clark twice for touchdowns. The lob to the corner was a tough though to make. But he should have completed that slant.
I HATE seeing our guys play lights out, play their heart out, making huge plays time and again when we need it - but still come up short. Heartbreaking. I hurt for our players. I'm not disappointed at all in this loss because we played very very well against legit top 10 team. So close. This loss doesn't hurt me much, but I absolutely hate it for our players. Good gosh they played so hard and they played their hearts out. Couldn't ask for a better effort.
Somebody call the FBI about Perkins. He's missing. Barely getting any touches. Why is Robert Elliot on the field? Think I heard one time he's a good blocker out of the backfield. Maybe that's why.
Big time hats off to the defense. Arkansas got their big plays. They get big plays against every team they play. But our guys got a lot of good stops. Sacked Mallet a few times. Even got a coverage sack once which is impressive as hell against Arkansas. Whitley's INT was beautiful. And forcing a fumble late in the 4th quarter was a big time play.
Wish we could have pulled it out. But damn what a game. Our boys fought so hard and never quit.
And big ups to me and the other 56,400+ fans. This might be the loudest the crowd has ever been. I really think everybody yelling is a lot louder than everybody ringing cowbells. Cowbells are a crutch. Cowbells sound loud to the people right next to them, but most of the sound goes upward. People yelling, especially with hands cupped around the mouth = pretty damn loud. All those false starts on Arkansas - crowd noise. Timeouts when they shouldn't have needed to call them - crowd noise. The crowd played as good as the players did.
