I find it a little funny for people to dump all over Gonzaga..

I guess people think getting beat by SU is something to hang their hats on

Two things can be true at once. WVU underperformed in the tournament, which we most certainly did, and Gonzaga both plays in a lousy conference and didn't have that difficult of a path the championship game. Saying one is not downplaying the other.

AH, A MAN WITH COMMON SENSE AND SANITY. AND REPEATING MY REPEATED CLAIMS. GONZAGA DOES PLAY IN "A LOUSY CONFERENCE." THE ZAGS DID WELL IN MARCH MADNESS, NO MATTER THE COMPETITION IT FACED. AND GONZAGA WAS AN EMBARASSMENT AGAINST BAYLOR! DOWN 11-1, NEVER GOT CLOSER THAN 9 AFTER THAT, DOWN AS MUCH AS 19 BEFORE BAYLOR COACH PUT IN EVERY BABY BEAR ON THE BENCH SO THAT THEY COULD HAVE THE THRILL OF PLAYING IN A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. GONZAGA WAS NEVER IN THE GAME ONCE THE REFS THREW UP THE OPENING TIPOFF. IT WAS NOT THAT THE ZAGS HAD A BAD NIGHT. BAYLOR MADE GONZAGA HAVE A BAD GAME. OUT-CLASSED THEM IN EVERY WAY!

They won 5 games in the Tourney only 1 other team won more. They proved they were good. They might not have gone undefeated if they had played in a power 5 conference but they would have been right there near the top of any conference in america.

WHAT YOU SEE IS TRUE. BUT GONZAGA WOULD HAVE HAD A TOUGH TIME FINISHING EVEN 2ND IN THE BIG 12 THIS SEASON BECAUSE WVU'S CONFERENCE WAS THE DEEPEST IN AMERICA. THE ZAGS HAD SOME IMPRESSIVE NON-CONFERENCE REGULAR SEASON VICTORIES BUT THE PATTYCAKE CONFERENCE SCHEDULE PUT THEM AT A DISADVANTAGE AGAINST BAYLOR, WHICH FACED WWF BODYSLAMMING COMPETITION EVERY GAME IN THE BIG 12. EVERY team in the Big 12 conference had a better non-conference record than its conference record. That is proof of depth.

Judging by your posts you have been pursuing "facts" to support your preconceived "truth."

ONCE AGAIN, SOMEONE WHO THINKS BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT OFF-KILTER THAT EVERYONE ELSE IS THE SAME AS THEM. AS I'VE SAID FOR MONTHS, IF YOU WERE PAYING ATTENTION, I INVESTIGATE THE NUMBERS AND FACTS AND GO WHEREVER THEY TAKE ME. AND THEN, AND ONLY THEN, I DECIDE THE TRUTH. I DON'T PRE-CONCEIVE. OBVIOUSLY YOU DO AND THINK EVERYONE ELSE DOES. NOT ME. I HAVE HIGHEST STANDARDS.

Gonzaga would have finished 2nd in the Big 12. The Big 12 was not the deepest conference. It was the Pac 12 they had four teams that made it to the sweet 16. After Baylor there was no elite teams in the Big 12 only average to slightly better than average. We saw how good the Big 12 teams not named baylor really were when it counted.

THE NUMBERS I HAVE POSTED SO OFTEN THAT PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT ME REPEATING THEM SHOW THAT YOU ARE WAY OFF THE MARK. THE BIG 12, THE NUMBERS SHOW, HAS THE DEEPEST STRENGTH OF ANY CONFERENCE IN AMERICA.

EVERY team in the Big 12 conference had a better non-conference record than its conference record. The deepest conference in America this season!

Since I check the numbers and go where they take me, you have a good point about the Pac-12 that me and most of the fans NOT on the Pacific Coast under-rated: TEN of the 12 members had a better non-conference than conference record. That still puts them below the Big 12 where EVERY member did better non-conference than in-conference but ahead of the Big 10 where 3 of the 14 members did worse, including In the Big 10, the 2nd and 3rd place teams -- #2 nationally Illinois and #8 nationally Iowa.

3 of the 11 American Athletic Conference members did worst in non-conference games.
3 of the 14 in the Atlantic 10 Conference did worse and 1 did the same.
3 of the 15 ACC members did worse in non-conference games.
2 of the 11 Big East members did worse and 1 did the same.
1 of the 14 SEC members did worse and that was the CONFERENCE CHAMPION, Alabama, #5 nationally.

Obviously the better conferences pad their over-all record with a lot of patsy non-conference teams since none of these conferences had more than 3 members doing worse in non-conference games.

Well maybe you should check how well the Big 12 performed in the Tourney. Only 1 team made it to the sweet 16. Baylor was the only elite team in the conference. Both the Big 12 and the Big 10 were overated. The pac 12 had 4 teams that made it to the sweet 16. Just because a big 12 team won the championship doesnt make it the best conference. Nobody considered the sec the best when Kentucky was winning national championships. Outside of baylor the big 12 was very average. Deal with it and accept it.

Tournament is a 1 and done. Means you need to be ready and prepared. Make the tournament 2 out of 3 and watch the higher seeds win more. Run along little Biden.
