I gotta take a break from this NCAA stuff before I have a heart attack.

Ole Miss buys trucks for players and gives high paying jobs to their mothers. Auburn pays six figures for players. They get nothing. We have a rogue booster give a recruit $100 and get busted. It is enough to make you pull your hair out.

Jeez I hope this is not like the "investigation" at the end of Sherrill's tenure that hung over us like a dark cloud.

Maybe XenaReb is banging this Devinner guy too.

Dont forget adoption of high profile recruits, free homes to mothers, monthly payments to athletes, etc.

As I said the other day we are evidently the Granny in the Airplane movies that gets thrown up against the wall for a full body strip search at the airport security checkpoint while multiple armed terrorists stream through with nobody even raising an eyebrow. Ain't it great to be an MState fan!

I think the days of LT just bending over, taken it up the butt and not asking for a reach around are over. Looks to me that Stricklin has been very proactive in this whole ordeal.

As one of our old coaches said for years, "nothing good comes out of Memphis"

he refused to recruit the area after trying to do it for years, primarily against the Rebs and Vols at the time.

I agree with you coach, but I feel like most of our fans are leary of the entire situation due to getting hammered by the ncaa at the end of the JWS era and for the older fans, the probation that was handed down to us during the Tyler era (a good bit before my time) over a meager clothing discount. I can understand the paranoia even if it is unwarranted due to the information that we know presently. They also made an example out of Sidney and drug us through the mud during the Cam fiasco, nothing is guaranteed when dealing with the NCAA as a State fan. I hope that the NCAA does not drag this out, but it would not surprise me if they let the dark cloud linger above our heads through national signing day. Hell, this investigation has been going on for a while, it should have concluded by now. They knocked out the Penn State situation rather quickly and it was an unprecedented case. How much longer before we hear about the findings and following conclusion from the NCAA and not have to read articles from the likes of Pat Forde speculating on the situation? Educated guesses?

I hear you. I am pretty ticked myself.....

I look at this situation and I am trying to remember ever seeing an articles written about a player getting the old 100 dollar handshake. I hear declared that is happens all over the place and looking at the evidence I am convinced that is right. But if so then why in the hell are we the ones who seem to get in trouble about it!?!?! Are our 'boosters' just that dang amateurish in going about this? I mean come on, are we REALLY going to get in trouble over this and are already paying the real price for it being in the news when players have CONFESSED to getting far more than this and NOTHING HAPPENS. I agree. I feel the tightening in my chest already. Nitroglycerine tablets anybody?

Memphis is permeated with state benefits fraud, income tax refund fraud, check/credit card fraud..... This is the environment in which you would be recruiting. I agree....just stay away.

TSUN and other schools have "runners" to dish out the funds. Our dumb booster allegedly did it himself.

The probation during Tyler's years came from challenging the NCAA to a game of chicken. Tyler played the player who supposedly benefitted from a discount, while the investigation continued. He pissed them off, they slapped us with probation and the rest is history. So far, Redmond hasn't played a down.
