This is Never said for Stans Mullen Koenning Wilson Croom etc... Any Cohen critiques brings your type out in full force though.

That's probably because there are no dubmasses on here suggesting that those coaches ... or any other coach ... should have made coaching decisions based upon statistics only.

That is the one flaw. Generally speaking, he's right and it's really not even close. Bunting is almost always not the best option. Exceptions being if you need 1 run or if you have a weak hitter against a strong pitcher. But if you just choose the best option every time, the defense is going to know exactly what you're going to do every time and they'll pitch/defend you accordingly. Sometimes you have to change it up to keep the defense off balance. Some coaches do outsmart themselves and overdo it though.

No it's never a good idea to do it with Rea Norris Frazier Renfroe CT etc in the 5th inning. You wouldn't change it up by punting on 3rd down would you. Some things just aren't good.
