Doug Wojcik of Tulsa

Why?

Tulsa has a proven track record of producing successful coaches for bigger programs- Nolan Richardson, Tubby Smith, and Bill Self- all have NC's.

Wojcik has been an asst at North Carolina and Michigan State- learning under great coaches

And to top it off, he was a PG at Navy- disciplined

Thats my choice men- Stricklin needs to lay some groundwork

All of those other coaches you mentioned took Tulsa to multiple NCAA tournaments, and all but Richardson made at least one deep run there. This guy hasn't even gotten them in the tournament in 5 seasons and is sitting on an 8-7 record so far this season.

I wouldn't be disappointed with him, but not getting to the ncaa tournament would be a concern.</span></font></div>

he didnt have an NCAA Tourney appearance before being hired at Fla- but he had been a good college player and coached under good coaches.

There is nothing "Stansbury-lite" about Wojcik or Billy Donovan

Just hire anyone... for a lot less money

I don't even care if they are good. I feel fairly confident we can spend much less money and get at least as good of a coach as the one we already have.

I don't understand what we're waiting on at this point... Is it the supposed bad *** recruiting class we have coming in? What idiots actually believe that Stansbury will actually do anything with those guys. Stans is an absolutely horrible coach. The longer he is here, the worse it will get.

We've already gone through this with Sherill and Polk, but apparently no one has learned their lesson.

What's the point in firing Stansbury now? It's not going to make a bit of a difference if we fire him now or in March.

I'll tell you what I worry about with the recruits more than anything- is them being around a bunch of bad apples and Stansbury doing nothing more than them up and leaving us.

Nothing wrong with Wojcik's bio and results. Marshall's are similar. To me the difference is Marshall and his staff has ties to the South, if not roots in the South. Wojcik and his staff are mostly all midwestern guys. I guess with the right coach that doesn't matter but if all other things are equal I would take the one who knows the South a little bit.

Now or March... At this point, there is nothing to salvage either way for this year, or the future as long as Stansbury is there.

We all know he is a cheater, yeah. but unlike Stans, who is also a cheater, he is a winner. I'm sure we could hire him away from El Paso

he has coached 13 years, and the only losing season he had was his first one at Wichita State. He made the ncaa seven times out of nine at Winthrop, but hasn't made it at Wichita. The only thing that is discouraging about him is that he hasn't done nearly as good a job at Wichita State as he did at Winthrop. I'm sure you are aware of this since he is your suggestion, but thought I would add why I would take him over the Tulsa coach.
