I have only seen Brunetti play USP. Does anyone believe that he could be a true

SEC qb? If he were to decommit and choose us, with his size (5'11 or 6'0) would we be any better with him then Lee? Would he play qb? I have not kept up with recruiting this year. Outside of Newton, are we recruiting anyone that has Russell's skills (good arm, played in a spread system, true qb, etc...)?

He is not as good of a passer (he's still pretty good though), but he makes up for it with his legs.

Now he can he take the pounding of running the ball a ton in the SEC, no. He cannot be "our Tebow" like a lot of people think, but he could be a good QB.

I've never really watched him much in games. But, I did see that QB skills program they put on ESPNU after one of the Friday night HS broadcasts (may have been the MUS/SP game). I didn't watch the whole thing, but the commentators on that show said that out of every QB at the camp, he was the one there ready to make an immediate impact. They liked him alot - strong arm, quick, good decisions. I understand these were ESPN commentators, their evaluating skills could be suspect - but the top QB talent in the country was at the camp. He was being compared to the cream of the crop - which is reassuring.

Personally, I'd much rather have Newton than Brunetti. Newton could be a season changer in year 1. But, if that didn't work out, I could sleep much better knowing we had a Brunetti/Russell combo vs. a Relf/Russell combo.

what games have ya'll seen him play? I'm asking because if you're basing this on the So. Panola game, then you need to watch him again. I say that in not having seen him play at all.

I have, however, seen others play So. Panola and honestly you can't judge a player by playing them. I saw them completely shut down Bumphis one game. Bumphis was pulling up short coming across the middle on 2-3 occasions because he knew he was about to get popped. He ended the game with 1 catch for 1 yard. If a coach had evaluated Chris Garrett against them, he would have ended up at Delta St. Same for the OL of Olive Branch this year. It looked like our game with OM last year on the OL.

Again, I haven't seen him play and ya'll may have seen him several times. I'm just saying nobody should be labeled one way or the other after having played So. Panola.

MUS is right down the street from my house (not that it matters) and I've gone to a couple of their games. Brunetti is a great athlete but his passing skills are less than desirable. He has a strong arm but his accuracy sucks. As good as an athlete as he is you would think someone like Mullen could turn him into a pretty good passer.

Coleman is a good player, but Damien Robinson is a long way from being a great player.

He has Templeton Hardy, Josh Winchell, Cordera Eason written all over him.

I've talked to two different guys that have watched several OB games this year, and they said that if you didn't know he had SEC offers outstanding, you would think Robinson was going to Juco. They said that not only has he not improved from last year, but in fact got worse. They thought he looked pretty good last year, and this year he has added some weight and his mobility is gone.

No way he still has a Bama offer.

Same thing about Nick Parker, I was told he was 2nd maybe 3rd best RB on their team. A good friend of mine's cousin played South Panola, and he said that tackling Parker was much easier than tackling their other RB, I forget his name.

The guy led his team into Batesville and beat South Panola with a ****** group of WR's except 1 guy. He led his team to a State Championship last year and they look like they will win it again this year. He was the fastest guy on the field in the USP game except for maybe Brassell. While he may not have ideal height at 6'0, he is built solidly at 200 lbs and looks like a perfect fit for what Mullen is trying to do. He also has a cannon for an arm and throws a pretty spiral with every throw. I agree that he has some wild throws at times, but he receivers dropped several catchable balls and gave up on routes at times. I would love to have him, but it looks like he is sticking with WVU.

As for the Olive Branch O-lineman, my theory is that every offensive line recruit is a project. But you can work with 6'7, 300 and athletic ability.

Watched him a few weeks ago. Great athlete, throws like Relf accuracy-wise. Not to say he can't improve, though.

USP, East and White Station. He got hurt in the first q at WS and missed the rest of the game. I will say he looked damn good against WS while he was in there. I'm just tired of short, stumpy, non-throwing QBs.

From what I saw of the Olive Branch offensive line, they only have 2 of those 3. Coleman was the only one who looked even half-way decent. The others looked terrible. I foresee some wasted scholarships there.

Coleman will be good, not sure how good, but in a few years he will be a contributor.

Robinson could prove me wrong, but he is not going to have the options everyone thinks he has come February.

I wasn't that impressed with Brunetti, either. He runs very well, but his passing leaves something to be desired. Very inaccurate. If he could have thrown a simple slip screen that night, they probably could have beaten us by at least 2 more TDs. I left thinking I was glad he was going to WV, because he'd be a definite project at QB for a team that actual needs to pass the ball to win (i.e., doesn't play in the Big East or Big 10).

Dude was VASTLY overrated. Completely immobile and doesn't have a very strong arm. Bumphis was the best QB on that team and is what made Tupelo go. Garrett will never see the light of day at LSU.

The OB OL is completely overrated. They're big, but that's about it. They're a long way from being solid college players and will be projects for whoever signs them.

As for Nick Parker, he probably is the 3rd best RB we've got. Dominic Carruthers is ridiculous. If Pogue wasn't a moron, he'd be the feature back instead of Parker. Parker hasn't been the same since that 58-carry game in the playoffs last year. He hurt his ankle and has never recovered mentally. He doesn't trust it to plant it in the ground and cut. He's not a D-1 back, that's certain.
