I am in favor of a full and fair investigation. A bipartisan one. But it must look at two major issues. The first, is what did Flynn actually do? And if what he did was in any way illegal or unethical, we need to know how far this reaches. We know the CIA intercepted the conversations between Flynn and the Russian Ambassador. We know they did this as a result of a FISA warrant that allows us to monitor the Russian Ambassador's communications.
But there are very, very strict laws regarding capturing of information like this that involves an American citizen. We now know that this information (likely in the form of transcripts) were leaked in clear violation of American law. The investigation must also look at the intelligence agencies (most likely the CIA) to determine how this leak occurred and those involved.
If Flynn violated the law, he should be in prosecuted. If he was ordered to do something illegal, they too must follow. But the CIA must be held to account as well. It is extremely dangerous when any agency, particularly one that deals in classified information and surveillance of American citizens to illegally leak information to the media. We have procedures/laws in place for this. They must be followed. We can't trample on the Constitutional rights of individuals to achieve a political outcome. Nor can we allow " intelligence agents" who disagree with a policy to leak classified information in an attempt to change or alter that policy. We would have absolute anarchy.
The FBI must get involved in an investigation of this leak, determine the culprits and prosecute them to the maximum extent of the law.
