Seeing all of these #WeBelieve photos has changed my outlook on the game. We can shock the world.
But more importantly, our fan base has turned the corner. We may lose this game by 1 point or we may lose by 100, but our fan base isn't the same as it was 5 years ago, 10 years ago, even during the late 90s. We are no longer happy with close losses to good teams. The majority of our fans have shed the "Well, we are just MSU" mentality.
Someone told me that the bus ride to Tuscaloosa will simply be a slideshow of these photos once we cross into Alabama. Just to show that this entire state is behind them as they go into the biggest game in school history. Alabama's not up for this game - no matter what you read in the paper. This is their homecoming game. They have a trip to LSU next week. Yeah, their coaches respect us as a good team, but their players and fans don't.
I grew up in the shadows of Tuscaloosa. I know the stories of domestic abuse when Alabama loses, I know the mentality of the sidewalk alum. I checked my Facebook friends. I have 49 that are Alabama fans. 5 went to school there, and another 7 went to college period. Yet these idiots look down on us.
Again, we may not win this game, but its a new day in our fan base.
