I hope we do something similar to announce DWS expansion...

we are going to need to invest in some drones to show off our insanely nice stadium. sooner or later, we will get the commercial right...or so im told.

As much as I love MSU, we are completely

I still can't get over that previous season ticket commercial.

As much as I love MSU, we are completely blindfolded and rudderless when it comes to image and branding. To be brutally frank, I haven't seen one credible piece of video emerge from the Athletic Department. Not one. (See most recent season ticket campaign) Most seem amateurish, silly and embarrassing. Perhaps the new-hire from Auburn will help change some of that...but the meter is running.

If it's not a cutesy tweet, then it seems out of the grasp of staff. There are enough marketing professionals on this page alone to help form a solid plan. It's time to re-examine. Soon.

I like the video, but I can't say that the song does anything for me

I think we handle social media well. It's the video department. The message that is being sent from some of those videos is elementary.

Like someone told me today when he sent that video - the LSU video made me want to buy State season tickets more than the State video did.

Yes, the videos are terrible. Sometimes I have nightmares thinking of the Jarvis "Swat" promo. /shudders

Byrne and Stricklin have done a pretty good job branding. Changing mstateathletics.com to hailstate.com, consistent social media feeds, and so on. I'm kinda shocked how quickly our fanbase took up "Hail State" as greeting, etc. Of course there needs to be tweaks (like not using a Facebook image in a Twitter post - they have different dimensions!).

What I thought was interesting was there was very little live game footage in the video. And what game footage was there only briefly showed anything/anyone other than LSU (Bama just briefly). Everything else is LSU players/coaches/band/fans/campus. All about LSU, as it should be.

You have to admire them for trying to address the glaring problem of getting fans to watch in person instead of at home. It was poor execution, but it took some balls.

"Let me guess your honor....." There was some music, some guys playing football, a few fan shots... So what.

Looks every other football hype video. Also if that was about their stadium expansion, I didn't realize it.

Haha hilarious and so true, I didn't like the song in the LSU one though and it just ended abruptly, looked great though. Maybe our new video department can get on something new for us soon.

Dang, I got "hailstated" randomly walking around the national mall in DC about 2 years ago by multiple people.
