I am not saying to fire Jans, but when your team was playing better in December than it is in March, you have not done a good coaching job. We could have easily have won just by not having so many unforced turnovers. I have no clue what is going on, but something just doesn't smell right.
Yeah. I like him ok, but I think art his point what you see is what you get with him. His teams have a ceiling & they wear down towards the end of the season.

Jans ain't the problem, it's trying to get kids to State. You look around at all our athletics and kids just don't want to come here that will push us to another level. Tourney teams are good, winning in those is the next step, but got to sign kids to get us there in all sports.

I don’t disagree, so to sign the right guys, you’ve got to overpay in NIL, or the black market in the old era, to get them here. That’s not a real option either. That’s why we need niches, and use our limited NIL to take care of our own guys.

Truth is the offense Jans put on the floor this year is one of the worst I’ve seen in college basketball this year. No movement or cuttting, no screens, no teamwork to find a good shot. Stading around and chucking up bad shots. And if Hubbard was on every third game that was the offense.

bad acquisitions of kugel and Harris who did not work out.

jans is very middle of the road as a coach and there are many guys out there who could do as well or better.

he needs to hire an assistant who has a clue on running an offense. His roster management and player evaluations have been bad. Some of this stuff is not complicated.

Probably not the type of attitude I should have, but it would be nice to see someone fired. Lebby (ok, too soon), Lemonis (well, we just beat the #10 in the nation, so probably not tonight) Selmon, keenum, Pee Wee (sorry I can't remember the name of the WBK coach), whoever is in charge of some game day experience we SPers don't like. The only safe is Jans, not that I am happy, but he is the best coach on campus now. Oh well.
How about Selmon?

I wasn't being rational last night, just 100% emotion, but the point being is that mediocrity and worse, seems to be accepted these days at a place I love.
What mediocrity caused you to emotionally lash out like a child yesterday?
It better not be over the basketball team losing, because that team was not mediocre this season. That team earned an at large bid into the tournament and was viewed as a top 30s team by the selection committee. That is not mediocre.

No coach in school history ever took us to the NCAA tournament in his first 3 years. Jans is 3-3 tell me who else could do that. Beard is 1-2 btw

Lebby is the football version of Rick Ray when we needed to make a home run hire.

He's a high school caliber coach that hires his buddies. He will end up with a worse record than Croom.
Lebby is the first football coach we’ve had that had to compete in the full blown NIL arena. His teams have some of the best offense I’ve seen against SEC competition at MSU. Croom wouldn’t win a single game in this environment. Lebby isn’t the problem. MSU not spending money on NIL like Ohio State is the problem.

Not being able to compete with Ohio State isn’t the problem. Not being able to compete with Toledo is the problem.

Also, our offense was 3rd from last in the conference last year fwiw

This delusional take is part of why we will continue to struggle. NIL is an easy scapegoat and excuse for the crap our school is putting out.

Indiana was in the freaking college football playoff. Their NIL is a fraction of ours. They went and hired a coach. We had a coach that wanted to come to MSU make the playoff last year. Selmon hired his buddy, then his buddy hired his buddies.

Ok then let’s fire Lebby and his whole staff. I stand corrected. Yes we had a badly ranking offense last year, but we started a true freshman QB most games. If folks like me are the problem, then I give in to the majority on here. I wasn’t aware I actually had one iota of influence, but I guess I’m more important than I thought. I can’t wait to tell my wife🤣🤣.

I’ll go ahead and add that I predict 3 wins next year and I still think Lebby is a better coach than most we’ve had at MSU, but we DO traditionally suck at hiring.

Print the shirt. It looks like it can say "blame me" or "it's all my fault"

Firing Lebby would be the best decision Mississippi State has made in five years.

it’s going to happen. I’d rather get the rebuild started.

To quote former Florida AD Jeremy Foley, what must be done eventually must be done immediately.

Face it. We have an AD who is looking for the next job, and he has hired yes people under him. Why another school would want to hire him is baffling.
