Game out of reach...mostly meaningless game, playing out the garbage time and that WF guy went for KT's knees full-speed. No call for that. Any player who does that knows there is a good chance they'll possibly do permanent damage.

On top of that, the POS crows about it over KT's obviously badly injured body. To me it just further suggests he wanted to put a crunching hit on KT to show off.

I appreciate your reply. For me, it was dirty because it was garbage time...no need to dive at a guys knees then. Everybody knows the potential for serious injury when you do that. I believe most players who are at least decent guys would not have done that given where the game was.

Tackle him, of course. Hit him hard even...that's ok. But diving at his knees? Again not illegal, but dirty IMO.

The announcers didn't even hint at it and they had a ton of time to talk and fill air.

I don’t think was taunting. It was initially ruled that KT fumbled and I think he was celebrating that. I didn’t think it was a dirty hit. KT was in a very vulnerable position because he had just bounced off another tackler and was spinning when he got nailed. I feel sorry for the referee who had to watch that hit over and over on the replay screen when they reviewed it and overturned the call of fumble.

I'd probably agree with this if he hadn't stood there taunting KT as he lied there on the ground in pain. I would definitely not had a problem with it if the game were still in doubt. I just still feel that most decent guys wouldn't go with a full speed dive at the knees in that situation. It's legal, but dangerous.

Look, I'm not 100% in my opinion...a little less so as I calm down with a glass of wine. But I'm still leaning toward considering the circumstances. You see guys playing a little safer in plenty of games when the game is decided. They don't quit, but I can't recall seeing many if any purposefully dangerous tackles in these situations.

Maybe I'll feel different tomorrow. Maybe I just need to vent some steam. But for now, I'm still unconvinced it wasn't dirty for the time and situation. Certainly I could be wrong here, and I do appreciate the points others have made in opposition.

I really feel like all these targeting calls.. makes these plays happen more. Defenders are told to go for the legs now.. the reason being.. is runners usually lower their body and heads before a hit.. so if you aim for the waist you might still get a targeting call. Go low and you are safe from it. Reason I hate the rule

I’ve watched it several times. WF player didn’t know KT was hurt until after he was celebrating what he thought was a fumble recovered by WF. Once he realized KT was still down, his demeanor changed instantly.

Using targeting as a defense is certainly a take. And of course it appears Kamario had surgery so there’s that also. Again, not illegal. But he didn’t have to go at his knees/lower legs especially at the point in the game when they had secured the victory. If he were worried about Kamario breaking a tackle then maybe he shouldn’t be playing football. I really wish we would do a better job of standing up for our players and stop giving other teams the benefit of the doubt. Expect better demand better accountability.
