Vandy opened my eyes when clark lea’s group beat Bama and I was left asking myself who was the last Miss State head coach to beat Alabama.

been improving steadily under Clark Lea, but I did not know they were this improved. To embarrass SC in Columbia opened my eyes a lot toward them.
NIL and a lot of wealthy younger Vandy alumni who want to see a good football team. Maybe not super rich but enough wealthy alumni to make a difference.

Everybody says this. But Carolina is using NIL too.

No, difference is Clark Lee knew what he was doing. It also helps to have a 6th or 7th year QB too, who should not even be eligible.

Not to rain on Vandy’s parade because it was a legitimately great win for them, but didn’t SC have a QB injury early in this one? Also as someone already mentioned, SC hasn’t lit the world on fire so far either. They were trailing a MEAC team after the first quarter last week and that struggle win against VA Tech has aged really poorly.

They started investing their money back when they were winning NCs in baseball. Now they have the money to compete in football. This is not your dad's Vandy.
As an aside, if the Ivy Leagues ever decided to get back into the Major College, I could see them (and their multi-billion-dollar endowments) dominating the NCAA. NFL-level salaries for their coaches and players.
