I like the Rick Ray hire for this reason

He has no ties to The Mississippi State University. Rick Ray knows he'sgetting a huge raise from what he was making, to produce a winner. He knows that if he screws this up he'll never get another chance. Because he has no comfort zone, he knows the only way he'll win over tMSU fans is to WIN.

Dan Mullen had the same mandate. He's built up loyalty with the fans because of what he's done on the field, NOT because he was an alum, he was a long-time assistant, was a buddy of the Cigar Boys, etc.

For all of you who are skeptical about the CRR hire, stay that way...let him EARN your loyalty.

You've got a point. There was a certain amount of loyalty to Felker because he was a player here. There is a certain amount of loyalty to Cohen because he was a player here. There was a certain amount of loyalty to Stansbury because he was an assistant here and married an MSU grad. Rick Ray will be judged by production and he knows that.
