They're just pissed Duke has stolen their thunder. They really thought with Calipari they would be the undisputed best recruiting class every year, the best team, win multiple championships, etc. And they definitely have been one of the best programs since Calipari has been coach BUT there's also been this program in Durham that has stolen the spotlight and challenge their claim as "best program." It really gets under their skin, especially with the attention Duke is getting leading into this season.

See 2010 when they couldn't beat a WVU team that Duke then proceeded to demolish and 2015 when they choked against a Wisconsin team that Duke beat twice in one year.

Wow I just went over there for the first time in a long time, holy cow! They are some really obsessed, angry, delusional and jealous fans.
They post about Duke more than any fan base other than Duke.
They had a game thread for the Duke/Virginia State game. It was 76 posts long.
Their thread about Bolden sitting out the second exhibition game is in the 87 or so posts long.
I do enjoy posting there, but I generally stick to the Duke threads, since that is what I know about.

That's the funniest thread I've read. They keep listing all sorts of reasons for why he sat out and when they heard Duke fans saying that he sat out because he was under the weather they claimed that Duke fans are just making up excuses

This is literally what I tell my UK friends everytime they mention our championship teams. They tell me that both years we won were UKs year and we were lucky they didn't play us. They're so delusional, we saw what Okafor did to Towns in the NBA.

Can't help but laugh when I hear Kentucky fans say that 2010 and 2015 were their years. If those were their years then they would've won the title those years instead of us. All you can do is laugh at them and maybe feel sorry for them for being so whiny.
We beat Wisconsin TWICE in 2015, on the road. UK couldn't even beat Wisconsin once. We absolutely demolished WVU in 2010, UK couldn't do anything against them. UK fans are completely delusional.
They claim to be College basketball but when given a challenge in the NCAA tournament they whine like little pre-schoolers saying the NCAA is out to get them and of course like hole fans, always whine that the officiating is never fair. I still think that loss to Robert Morris in the first round of the NIT is absolutely hilarious

Do UK fans think they are Duke's rival ? When they are worthy of being Duke's rival I will refer to them as uk. Until the Duke has only one rival and it's unc. Too me they are just another very good basketball program that on occasion we play just like KU, MSU among others. OFC
And it's not just a fluke thing. It's not that they got the "really hard matchup" and we got the cupcake matchup because both years we ended up playing the team they lost to and beat them. I like to think it's the basketball gods' way of pouring salt into the gaping wound that is UK's fanbase.

. There are actually a lot of U.K. Fans that actually consider Duke a main rival and even hate Duke more than Louisville or Indiana. To me that's not being a true UK fan.
Ashury was basically just letting them score so I don't know why they are getting so excited over winning by that huge of a margin. Also Asbury is just an incredibly small team compared to U.K.
Asbury would fit right in with the other SEC teams.

My buddy at work is asburys assistant coach, basically before the game the kids were saying they knew they lost and it was a waste of time etc. I just can't fathom why calipari would schedule a team like asbury. Their campus is 10 mins from my house and honestly our local wal mart is bigger. They keep telling theirselves cal did it to help the school but those players are demoralized.

Being a Duke fan in Kentucky, maybe I can provide a bit more perspective here.
- I will say upfront that I don't think the UK board is representative of the fanbase as a whole. Rarely do I run into someone that echos the absurdity you find on their board.
- The overwhelming majority of all UK fans absolutely hate Duke and K. Some hate Duke but still respect their legacy and K's wins. Few are apathetic towards Duke. And there are a handful of us that actually like Duke. We generally are involved with a program similar to witness protection. (kidding. . . . . But really.)
- Most UK fans definitely consider Duke a main rival, second to Louisville (there are some racial/cultural elements to the rivalry with UL.) You'll find some fans that prefer Louisville over Duke since UL is in-state. I think most UK fans would agree their main rivals are UL, Duke, Unc, and Indiana. I've even heard people say that they wish UK would join the ACC since that's where their rivals are anyway. There is definitely dissension amongst this topic among them.
- It's not uncommon to have strangers say something to me for wearing a Duke shirt. Most of it is light hearted and all in fun, but more than once it's been overly hateful (I once had an older gentleman tell me I should be shot for wearing a shirt).

Dont feel bad. I've been called a traitor to KY before because I'm a Duke fan that was born and raised here. I've had people tell me that I'm brave for being a Duke fan here, but I haven't encountered a fan that has told me I should be shot for wearing a Duke shirt but it does not surprise me one bit. He prolly posts on Rupp Rafters as well. Lol! I feel like they can call me all those names and say what they want to, but it's never going to change me being a Duke fan and never will. What it does do is that it makes me hate U.K. even more than I already do. For the most part it is just friendly banter back and forth with some fans, but sometimes at the right moments it can get heated.
