No mercy. Peauxr it on these Corn Dog bastards. Hell, with the way they can hit the long ball, I want to be up as much as I can.

Also, Sam Frost is having a nice season. I'd be fine with him at 2B. Subbing him in for Norris at 3B is f'n retarded, though. But we've gone way beyond beating that dead horse.

100% agree. Cohen coaches really well with a lead typically. We're getting some timely hits, and Graveman gave us a quality start. Great effort today. Didn't realize we had over 30 hits in the series so far. Not bad.

The thing that pisses me off, though, is how many chances we had to beat them Friday night. I'm tired of losing the series year in and year out to these 17ers... we are 11-21 against them the past decade in baseball and have not won a series against them in 7 years (we won the '03 series and '06 series against them)... and still continue to beat ourselves with mental errors. Paul Manieri has our number... and it hurts worse when he wanted to come here as head coach when, instead, we opted for Polk II.

It's the same way in basketball and football... we have are 10-10 against them in basketball in that same time frame... (1-0 in postseason... '09) and haven't won a game against them in football.

I'm happy we are killing them today, but as a State fan who thought this would be the year we finally have the edge to win the series, we beat ourselves in key situations. Just feels a little patronizing now, but I will certainly take not getting swept.

Rant over.

LSU definitely has our number, which is exactly what I told a buddy before the series. It sucks, but a lot of that also has to do with them having superior talent for years. We're finally starting to get roughly equal talent in baseball, so I think you'll see us break through against them in a series soon. I wish it could've been this year too, but it's typical MState luck that they'd turn 4 of their 20 DPs against us on Friday.

You are right about the talent... I am happy we didn't get swept and we have plenty of opportunities to surpass them, but also, like someone told me, this could be a huge series come June when it comes time for the committee to decide whether to have a regional in Starkville or Baton Rouge... I just hope this weekend was a right of passage for the season and now we can play as advertised and not beat ourselves. If losing Friday helps us mentally in winning 4 or 5 more key games this season, I'm ok with that.

They don't "have our number." They've had a better program than us for over 20 years. Considering the difference in the programs, we've done pretty well against them over the years. Cohen's just now got us to the point we can be competitive with them.
