He was nearly hired by kansas state this season but turned them down. So yes, if he wants another BCS job...he'll have one

We also know he was offered by Clemson the year before that. We see that MArk Gottfreid has made a pretty good transition and been a good fit at NC State . Why would Stansbury not have a similar opportunity?

Im not 100% sure he was offered the K State job, but I do know Stansbury was telling people he was offered the KState job . The president at Kstate is a former MSU faculty member.

First of all, it is certain that Mark Fox will return at Georgia next year, and very likely that Tony Barbee will return at Auburn.
Secondly, if Stans even wants to get back into coaching, it won't be at the SEC level. Look for Louisiana-Monroe to fire coach Keith Richard after a 3rd abysmal year. If Stans wants that job, he could probably get it.

Maybe he will regain that fire again, but if he turned down that job, then he obviously cares more about staying and getting his Mississippi pension than coaching basketball, which is 100,000% consistent with the effort and results we saw the last 4-5 years.

The only folks who have skin in this game are those that preached for years that Stans wasn't any good. I would be thrilled if Ray could come anywhere close to Stans record but before he can do that, he has to break even in the league. Do you really think he is going to do that in the next three years? We are in worst shape than any other team in the league and if we rebuild, the others will be far ahead of us. The only players we have now are Stans players so the ball is now in Rick Ray's court and what makes you think if he fails we have an AD who could hire anybody better? We have one more chance to get another win and that is against Auburn who is pitiful too.

I think we'll break even in the SEC by Ray's 3rd year. This aint the damn Big East
Nobody knows yet if Ray will be able to recruit well enough- But judging him on this crap roster this year is ridiculous.
As far as the AD making a hire- the Stansbury stench made this hire alot tougher than any of us realized. Just like nobody realized how devoid of talent Polk left the baseball program. Many people didnt want to accept it- but time showed how true it was. Ray is working hard, has brought in some discipline and work ethic, and actually coaches the team. Now he has to add to the talent pool. We'll see if he can do that over the next couple of years
We will remember that prediction and as usual, you blame Stansbury for everything. He showed the nation MSU could win in basketball so that dog won't hunt. Go sell some rubbers and enjoy the baseball season.

I feel that any MSU basketball fan has some "skin in the game". It was time for Stans to go - you know it, I know it, everyone knows it. Coach Ray may or may not be the right coach, but it was time for Stans to move on. Deal with it and move forward.
