Middle sentence not one that is getting enough attention. Paul and Caleb are clearly still injured and have been most of the year. People will post “no one knows what happened to Paul, this is inexplicable” yet it is very explicable. 3 starters with major injuries

Paging @zappaa

If this is actually true, Pike really needed to come out and say it a while ago. Why would you let your player get raked over the coals by the entire fanbase if the explanation is an injury? Also, why keep riding him then? If Paul is this bad because he's hurt, then Pike wouldn't expect it to improve, and should've had no issue benching him for Simpson?

Paul has been just terrible since Mich St. I have to agree he must be dealing with an injury, never saw a player go from good to bad so abruptly. I kinda hope it's just an injury that heals 100% after the season and he does comeback for his 5th year healthy and strong, hate to see his RU career go out on such a bad note.

Exactly my thoughts. I love these guys. They're our guys. It hurts to see them struggle and I know they're really down right now.

End of the day it's just basketball. We went 10-10 in the Big Ten and won 18 games. They gave it everything they had but it wasn't there at the end.

Mid season this team was very very good. They had a great balance on the floor. They are now limping to the finish and there isn’t much left in the gas tank. Paul and Caleb are clearly not healthy and the Mag injury was a back breaker. Too much to over come this year.
Yes, Mag is gone, and Caleb is hurting big time. (Corrected by me.) I was wrong and over the line in the moment. I'm sorry to those I offended.

Maybe Paul and Caleb are injured, but Cliff is not nearly as dynamic and seems to be tired each game. Low energy. Do others agree?

Didn't Paul get another stinger or a shot to that injured shoulder @ Illinois or @ Indiana? I remember it happening not sure early or the middle of the last 8 games, pretty sure it was the same injured one from early in the season.

What ever it is with Paul he's not half the player he was 6 weeks ago. He has lost all confidence in his game and is constantly flustered and looks like he's confused on the floor. I realize if he's physically injured it has an effect on your mental approach to the game but the regression just got worse and worse.
Whatever the problem is I hope he can fix it. This is not the Paul Mulcahy we saw for the last few years.

The crazy thing about Paul is he has gone from being the villain of the opposing team fans for years to the villain of his own team fans in a matter of weeks. Never seen anything like it.

Injuries have impacted team performance . At the same time Rutgers had a mediocre offense even when Rutgers was winning league games at the beginning of the season.Defense has been stellar and took a set back with the Mag injury.

It's truly a shame since this team was so unbelievably fun and exciting to watch on top of being very good. The energy pressing and connectiveness was awesome

Now it's just been mostly painful
You know it's bad when you lose at home against Northwestern and you think "well, at least that wasn't as bad as that loss to Minnesota".

Maybe it's the losing or injury or simply that the basketball phase of life has passed, but the biggest difference in this team is that it rarely looks like they're having fun. So different from what we saw the first 3 months of the season. IMO, a few of our guys look burned out.

They poured everything in basketball. Losing sucks. No one has fun when you lose. They also are dealing with a ton of pressure. Ron and Geo were made for that. I honestly believe Paul and Caleb are giving everything they have. This year the cards are just stacked against with injuries.

They consistently work hard. I can only imagine how frustrated the whole team is. Hopefully they win another game this year.
