Philadelphia 76ers power forward Arnett Moultrie has been suspended five games for violating the NBA’s drug policy, the league announced on Monday.
Moultrie was sent down to the D-League’s Delaware 87ers earlier this month after failing to gain significant playing time in Philadelphia. Sixers coach Brett Brown told Delaware’s News Journal that he hoped Moultrie would benefit from the extended minutes.
“It’s not really a fitness issue entirely. It’s a tiny bit that, but I’d say that about anybody. … He’s a young player, he was a first-round draft pick, he needs to play, and if it’s not happening here, it’s got to happen somewhere else, and that’s why we’re so lucky to have our D-League team 40 minutes down the road.”
While the league has not stated what substance triggered Moultrie’s positive test, league policy calls for an automatic five-game suspension for a player who tests positive for marijuana three times, while performance-enhancing drugs trigger a 20-game suspension.

So he's been busted 3 times? Wow. That's a pretty liberal testing/suspension policy compared to the NFL.

Moultrie, Gordon, and Bost caused me to make a personal rule to never follow athletes on Twitter.
Absolute morons.

Well you're

not talking about the smartest person/people in the world. If not for basketball, he'd probably be flipping burgers or in jail.

Back up the insult bus there a minute hot dog..

I think GTA's point is that with as many chances Moultrie got at Dear Old State that he should have wised up at some point and got some help. Even if he didn't then, you have to admit that the NBA's drug policy is pretty loose and he had even more opportunity to get help. At some point, one must simply say that you can't fix stupid. He's most likely going to blow a career and his money on dope.

Only dopes use dope.**

Agree on this. You are really just better off not knowing what some of these guys are saying. Pro players are much better.

The few times

I read Moultrie's tweets, I felt as if I needed to be some G2 at Bletchtley Park using the Enigma machine.

I realized that if I wanted to cheer for them, I needed to stop reading what they tweeted.
Bost was the least idiotic of the 3, which is saying something since Bost managed to stay in the draft while thinking he wasnt. Or he thought that was a good excuse. Either way is laughable.

I flat out didnt even understand half of what Gordon tweeted. And once Moultrie tweeted that he had bagged some 'old white strange' the night before, I laughed and then stopped following him.
