Mods, sorry if it rekindles anything, but if anyone cares for the math:

On Reilly's touchdown, the line of scrimmage was the 30. He stepped out at the 13 (19 second point of the slowed down video). His route began at the bottom of the numbers...so 6 yards from the sideline.

Using the Pythagorean theorem, he ran 18.028 yards from where he started to where he stepped out. He would have been traveling at an angle of 19 degrees. Hardly a beeline straight for the sideline.

Of course, he wasn't running straight so he would have ran even farther and I can't do math well enough to work with curves.

Thank you for indulging me.

Forgive me if I used the word beeline incorrectly. But he ran in a straight-line towards the sideline. The film clearly shows it.

The officials called it a touchdown. The replay officials called it a touchdown. The head of BIG officiating reviewed the film on Sunday and said that it was the correct call and is a touchdown. It happened 4 days ago. It's in the past, Rutgers is on Saturday. Get over it.

if he caught it 3 yards out of bounds I could understand some reservations about the call

He is the fastest player on the team. He was running so fast Newtonian mechanics no longer applied, so therefore neither did the Pythagorean theorem. You need to brush up on your Einstein mechanics.
Now that's funny right there!

You cannot be serious! You can't be serious man, you cannot be serious! That ball was on the line. Chalk flew up! How can you possibly call that out?!

I could be wrong but I don't think the B1G officials said it was the correct call, they did not make a determination of that issue. What they did determine is the officials followed the correct protocol in upholding the call made by the officials on the field.
