I still don't see how we batted out of order

How did Brownlee not know who he hit after? How did Ryan Powers not run up there and take his spot? How did Cohen not yell for Brownlee to sit down? How did the dugout not shot for Brownlee to sit down? How did the fans not yell and scream loudly?
This is just weird.

the answers are all the same. It just happened. That is it, it was a mistake, now move on with your life. Or refer to the other 2 threads asking the same questions from yesterday.

in a one run game that only went 7 innings. We potentially could have scored a run or two in that inning had that not occurred.

so there was obviously some sort of mix up in what was written on the line up card and what was conveyed to the team.

(by whom I don't know) and the card in the dugout and the card the blue had were different. The team followed the dugout card and mistakenly batted out of order. Maybe Cohen changed his mind at the last minute and forgot to change the dugout card. I have no idea. It's over. I'm sure it won't happen again.

If the two threads (one thread) from yesterday had answered my question, I wouldn't have to ask it again. I just can't fathom how it happened. Why didn't the fans/dugout/etc. prevent it?
I'm not enraged at Cohen or the team or anything, I just don't get how such a thing could happen at this level.

Ah, ok, that makes a lot more sense.

I usually know every player and most the stats on the team and consider myself a pretty well informed fan. That being said, since Cohen does not personally hand me the batting order at the start of each game and it was the 1st time through the lineup. A lineup that Cohen himself said would probably change for each game this weekend. How exactly were the fans to know that we were batting out of order.

Even if it was put up on the new jumbotron and a different guy was at the plate, I would just assume that the guy controlling the Jumbotron was wrong.

I think it is tough to blame the fans, it was a mistake, it happened, we won 2 of 3 and play Southern tomorrow. Let's move past it..
