I still think if we can win five more games

in the NIT before we went 1-3 in our last 4 games...a 1-4 finish to the season may end up keeping our *** at home

South Carolina is a better basketball team than MSU. Or at least I should say that Devan Downey makes SC a better basketball team. Their resume is better, and I honestly think they'll get in the NCAA tourney, because I think they'll be the team that ends up winning the East.

Your RPI is sitting at 84th in the country. Assuming the top 50 or so teams make the NCAA tourney, and assuming that about 6-8 teams get automatic NIT bids from small conferences, that leaves about 25 at large bids for the NIT. With an RPI of 84, you really can't say that a 6 seed is that unrealistic. In fact, if it weren't for a winning conference record, you'd probably be on the outside looking in on those NIT projections.

Yeah, if only there was some way we could get South Carolina and MSU to play each other and actually decide which one is better, that would be awesome.

...we could win out and lose in the SEC Championship game...and even then we won't get in. Our RPI is too bad and our non-conference schedule is too bad. Winning the tourney is the only chance.

A 4-6 seed in the NIT is pretty realistic, I'd say.

But not by much. This team's NCAA chances have been pretty much zilch for weeks.

You played them in Starkville, and you won by 5. South Carolina has an RPI of 44, and they're 8-4 in SEC play.

They've looked like a better team than State most of the year, and they probably would beat you without a lot of difficulty in Columbia.

I'm assuming you think Arkansas has a better basketball team than Texas and Oklahoma as well. After all, they did beat them on their home floor.

i guess y'all would've beat them without a lot of difficulty in oxford. and then would've made t-shirts to go with the bumper stickers.

Since when does the RPI determine who is the better team? Arkansas beat Texas and Oklahoma 2 months ago or so. Things change during the season, some teams get better as the season goes along, some get worse. South Carolina is 8-4 in conference, we are 7-5, hardly any difference except that South Carolina represents one of the wins in our win column, and we represent one of the losses in their loss column, and we played them just one week ago. If they were all that much better like you seem to think, they would have beat us in Starkville. They didn't. I'm not saying that we are a way better team than them, but we did just beat them last week.
