Wouldn't that just make this so much easier? Deflate the aubie balloon once and for all. Cam-gate is going to shake out one way or the other. Nobody really wants Auburn there, we all know it's a joke. I'd rather watch TCU get their shot at some BCS team than watch Cam friggin' Newton's antics again.

There is some thought that a loss (especially a close one) tomorrow would not be enough to drop Auburn out of the top two. Don't shoot the messenger here. The computers love Auburn and even with a loss they will probably be #1 in several of the computers. That leaves it in the hands of the human voters. Certainly the controversy will hurt Auburn in this case, but will it be balanced out by the hesitancy of some voters to put a non-AQ school in the BCSCG? If Auburn and Oregon both lose, then Wisconsin enters the mix too, but I think in that case Auburn gets even stronger when you have three one loss teams.

I think this is the year they really want it to happen. If Auburn loses, with all their clouds swirling around, I think it's Oregon vs. TCU. If Boise was still undefeated, I think they'd be there for sure. Many of the paper pushing media saw the Fiesta Bowl as a playoff last year for the top non-AQ spot, but all know TCU is the better of the two. People just want to see it once and for all.

Me personally I'd like to see Auburn vs. TCU from a matchup standpoint (non-AQ vs. big strong SEC in a game that matters for both teams NOT a Sugar Bowl where the SEC team doesn't care) but I really hate Auburn too much to root for thatto happen.

But in all objectivity, Auburn probably should get in if they lose, especially if it's close. You could argue for Oklahoma '03 and Nebraska '01 but they really got beat down in their losses. BCS usually gets it right.
