I think Dave Neal and Andre Ware made a good point during the game yesterday.

First off, they both seemed to think that State has a very bright future. And I think most of us would agree that there is good young talent on the team and some good talent coming in through recruiting. They both said that especially on defense, to become a good consistently competitive team on defense, you need to have a very talented player at every level. They both said Pernell, KJ, and Charles Mitchell were the guys we could build around. That got me thinking. We lose Jamar Chaney, a couple of DL that have been switching out with freshman, and Marcus Washington. Besides Jamar, the rest are addition by subtraction. Our defensive freshman have really taken huge steps, and if next years freshman do the same thing, I think our defensive could be really good, and give us a chance to win more games. If our defense had played better this year, we would have won LSU and Houston, and possibly Arkansas. Our offense has done much better even with an underacheiving QB. I think with all this being said, my point is that I think we finally have the talent in place to move forward as a team. We need a few OL and a QB, but defensively I think we could really be good and should definitely be in a position to go to a bowl game next year.

That sequence when they relived Andre Ware's college days was one where they took a few plays off from the game. And when they discuss stuff when the ref is marking off a penalty - nagh, TV audience didn't need any info about the penalty, just continue with the story. This isn't football, its Oprah.

I believe that they went away from live actions three separate times to show replays of Andre Ware's college football games. I don't have any problem doing that at halftime or possibly even during a timeout, but don't pull that crap during live play. For one, I don't give a damn about Andre Ware, and it really pisses me off when your return to live action with a penalty being walked off and you have no idea what happened due to being shown a 20-year-old game clip.

On topic, I absolutely agree that the future looks bright. There are only two areas that have severely cost us this year and that is QB and the secondary. QB should be easy to fix as it can't possibly get any worse than what we have, and while this may be a little naive, I'm going to blame the secondary almost completely on youth. Seriously, if you take away some of the mistakes at QB and the deep bombs that have been thrown on us all season while our safeties and corners just point at each other, this is not a bad team. I'm not saying that we're necessarily strong elsewhere, but I think we're good enough to win some ballgames in all other areas.

and there were plenty of things that were hard to read about your post, but I just wanted to point out to you:

The plural of "freshman" is "freshmens"...that is all.

Let's not forget the several times they posted the pictures/statistics of their favorate three players in several different categories. Of course trying, but failing, to squeeze them inbetween plays. All in addition to the swirling SEC logo which wasn't their fault but which I find distracting. There was a time when announcers and production managers knew the game was the issue, not their bs and special effects.

one of them bragging on our defense and how good of a job Ellis Johnson was doing. I think it was Ware talking at the time. Anybody else hear this?

Went on and on about how great of a defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson is and how he would get our defense playing well soon. About 30 minutes later he finally corrected himself and said Carl Torbush was the d coordinator.

was talking about how Mullen and Dixon got off to a bad start because Dixon was overweight and undisciplined. Then one of them makes the Croom comment.
