Seems like there is some interest on this board as to who we hire. Who do think it will be? Just curious to see what the pack thinks.
hulkbuster said:Honestly I agree w/ SLUdawg about them NOT hiring a black HC. The reason, quite simply put they & MOST of thier fans are Rebels. Most of thier fans were pissed after losing that stinkin' flag, then that stupid "dixie" song. I know ALOT of people who like them JUST because of the corelation to that stigma. I personally think they have the type of players that Sumlin's offense could flourish in. He would be a good fit based on his style of coaching. But I honestly believe if I were a blackbear i'd want to get away from the offensive style coach. They need a mean defensive/disciplinarian style of coach. Chavis would get my vote IF I were a Bear & i'm not. Just the comment's Nutt had on yahoosports about how "it's hard to recruit black kids to come to ole miss". Kinda spells doom for Sumlin. Malzhan isn't gonna leave for yall. Leach would be the Nutt 2nd coming. He's too nutty for an SEC program.
Leach is living comfortably in Key West and would be a TERRIBLE fit for OM. They like coaches that tow the party line with respect to "tradition", and Leach is one that likes to buck it and set new ones. With the revolving door that is in Oxford right now, I see him easily passing on this one. Leach will have his choice of jobs in the next year or two. Especially since cash flow isn't a problem for him these days.Hump4Hoops said:and I mean *any*
Also, you'd be lucky to get him.
Barkman Turner Overdrive said:Sumlin is on the cusp of the BCS Top Ten and has a great shot at a BCS bowl. No way he leaves that to the cluster 17 that is currently Black Bear athletics. I think you will fall down your list further than that. I think you will end up with Freeze and nafoom will be giving each other reach arounds for having a guy with head coach experience and previously recruited the area. And honestly, he would be a solid hire.
well said RCD.RocketCityDawg said:And regardless of whatever some random RAT poaster postulates on this board, it's meaningless.
